Well, a big part of the problem is the partitioning the world into "white hats" and "black hats". That's not how humans are. There's some of both in all of us and, if you don't recognize that, you get demagogues as leaders and incidents like 1/6 that make us look like a banana republic. Well, that's natural when you have a group of white insurrectionists storming the Capitol trying to overthrow the government because their man lost or some goofy conspiracy group thinks politicians eat babies and that there is some master plan to address decades of white grievance. Again, no one likes seeing the property damage, especially to someone's business during a pandemic. But the root of those protests were in seeking social justice. Not overthrowing the government.

Since i wear a MAGA hat when i go out(thus not fearing a triggered prog) i have plenty of older citizens come up to me and want to know what i think about our Socialist government and where it is going to take US.
