- Social Security
- Medicaid and Medicare
- VA Health Care
- The GI Bill
- All of the military, for that matter
- Cops and fire fighters
- Secret Service and Border Patrol
- Public defenders
- Trash collection, sewers, and landfills
- Crash-free airports
- Roads, bridges, and trains- Public transportation
- Public prisons
- Public libraries and museums
- Public parks and zoos
- Public schools, colleges, and universities
- Pell Grants and government scholarships
- The US Postal Service
- The National Weather Service
- The Peace Corps
- Agriculture and energy subsidies
- Decent food, clean air, clean water
- The CDC
- OSHA
- FEMA
- Snow removal
- Streetlights
- Streets

And a lot more. All of these are examples of socialist programs within our capitalist society.

I think it's more than schools, it has to be people being raised with a sense of entitlement.

When I was growing up, most kids had to work if they wanted money, and jobs were not readily available for kids like they are today. A few had parents that just handed their kids money on demand, and doing nothing for it.

When they became adults, they had a hard time getting along in the employment world. Always walking off of jobs, always complaining they didn't make enough, or was working too hard. Some grew up to be thieves.

Yes, schools can indoctrinate children, but it's up to the parents to set those kids straight and raise them to be adults.

You’re partly right, our government has operated out of bounds for decades under the ‘general welfare’ statute.
The people should have a right to vote on all initiatives and mandates...there is no way in hell our legislators should be able to write anything related to the ‘general welfare’ into law without a ballot measure and vote from the people.

Public investments which yield an ROi for investors (the public) are not the same as government forced mandates. Our piece of shit politicians should never be able to force the taxpaying public to pay for Mexico’s filth as we will never see an ROi from Guadalupe or her litter of filthy subhumans.
