I've noticed that much of the criticism of socialism is in fact criticism of communism. Socialism is a big term meaning the government control of the means of production (I hope no one can oppose that). Communism is socialism in the context of an authoritarian state; it does have a terrible track record, but as we are not an authoritarian state, we are in no danger of becoming communist. Socialism in a democratic state (such as the US) is called democratic socialism, which is the Scandinavian-style system being pushed by the likes of AOC and Bernie Sanders. It does not have a terrible track record, it was not responsible for the gulags or the Great Leap Forward, and it does not inevitably lead to communism.

I believe what is best for our country is to have a mixed economy. Capitalism is at our core as a society, and it has worked for us, but capitalism has its limits - if it is not tempered by regulation or some government control, we get 1900s style company towns, 100-hour work weeks, children in coal mines, and so on, as the Rockefellers of the world live in castles. That said, I believe that moving us to a full-bore democratic socialist model would be a bridge too far; it would be too much change, too quickly, and would result in corporations going overseas, stagnation, job loss, and unrest, to say the least. That brings me back to our ideal economy being "mixed," which it is now, and we can argue about the specifics as we go.

I don't entirely disagree with him, there are many fine black and Hispanic people in America. But if you look at crime stats, even an honest leftist loon (you might be one) has to admit the CRIME is predominantly done by blacks and Hispanics as to a proportion of population, and not by just a little.
