History Is Clear: Socialism Isn't the Cure. So Why Do Millennials Like It?

Aside from the way capitalism has been distorted, another reason more people are interested in socialism is they look at people like the right wingers posting on this thread and figure they don't want to be associated with them. That's just human nature.

The people pushing socialism should be sending you folks Thank You cards.
.

No, the people pushing Socialism should leave this country for any number of Socialist countries out there. Why would you buy a car you never even test driven before?
Since they're looking at countries like Canada, Germany and Australia, they're not terribly worried.
.

Yet I'd be willing to bet that most of these Socialist lovers never went to any of them, at least for any extended period of time. I have no idea why anybody would want to change a place into others that are already out there for them.
The obvious answer is that they're not fond of the direction this country is going.

There's a lot more to a country than its current economic condition.

As 19 year olds sip their $5 coffee and discuss the latest fashion wear they plan to buy this weekend.

The answer is clear, but the Right doesn't like it. Or, more likely, they won't understand it.

It's the fact that capitalism has been so damaged and distorted that more people are open to other ideas.

And there ya go.
.
Yeah, that’s why America has by far the strongest economy on the planet, Mr “Financeguy”
Then you have nothing to worry about.
.
Never did have to worry. America has by far the best economy in the world, which obviously pisses you off.

GDP numbers can be manipulated. Go ahead and list nations with higher GDP growth, then let’s discuss the economic situation of the average citizens there.

Ah, "fake news". Of course.

Your mix of arrogance and ignorance is always worth a giggle.

Yeah, I’d be afraid to name a nation better than America too.

We have something here that most other places don't have, and I'd hate to see it thrown away because capitalism is just too hard of an economic system to live under.
That's only part of the reason. Capitalism has been distorted by people who refuse to regulate it properly (see Greenspan, Alan, 2008 Meltdown), and people also look at those people who support it. They don't like what they see. If some nasty, hateful hardcore left winger passionately supported something, it would be less likely that you would, too. That's just fundamental human nature, and the GOP is ignoring it.

So, another system that comes along will get a closer look than it might have otherwise. And that's exactly what's happening right now.

I know you'll disagree. But at least now you have a bigger picture.
.

Oh, I have the picture alright, and I always have.

Capitalism is a reward system, based on how innovative, talented, and hard working a person is, the rewards follow. Socialism is more of an equalized system, where innovation and hard work pays more, but just a little more. As I mentioned earlier, it's kind of like the commune systems we seen in the 70's. Share and share alike.

For a person who wants to be the best they can be, and obtain the greatest wealth, they don't go to a Socialist country, they come here.

So who is against the capitalist system and favors a Socialist system? Those who don't want to play the game. Instead of trying for themselves, complain about what others have accomplished, and call that unfair. Trying is too hard....too risky. It takes a lot of work and perhaps a lot of studying. Many fail at it, but those who are successful keep trying until they get it right.

When you rob Peter to pay Paul, the Pauls's of your society generally have no objection, and that is why younger people today favor it.

Or maybe because the left has controlled education for 4 or so decades that their message is the only one getting across.
Sure, you can run with that.
.

Wow, talk about a casual dismissal.

Do you truly think the educational community doesn't have a leftist bent in general?

Just ask 10 people ages 18-28 who Stalin was and you have your answer.

Yes, of course it does.

But it's the Right that has damaged and distorted capitalism.

Most of the crony capitalism happens in Blue States.

Doncha know?
Obama gave his pals at Solyndra billions days before they closed their doors because of Trump.

Link to that claim, please.

Aside from that, the Right has constantly pushed de-regulation, such as that which created the Meltdown; constantly pushed for lower taxes, which have exacerbated our insane wealth disparity; and allowed far too much shallow & simplistic pseudo-libertarianism to pollute its view of markets, even though low-regulation icon Alan Greenspan admitted the role it played in the Meltdown, and that he fucked up.

I know you don't agree. You asked, I answered.

Multiple forms of socialism, from hard Stalinism to European redistribution, continue to fail.

Russia and China are still struggling with the legacy of genocidal communism. Eastern Europe still suffers after decades of Soviet-imposed socialist chaos.

Cuba, Nicaragua, North Korea and Venezuela are unfree, poor and failed states. Baathism -- a synonym for pan-Arabic socialism -- ruined the postwar Middle East.

Because Work is hard and doesn’t leave enough time to smoke weed, play video games and jack off with their buddies.....and FREE is a word that the socialist educators have inbeded into their heads without explaining that NOTHING IS FREE, whether you pay for it now or down the road!
Cause we are no longer taught facts in history. It is all globalist leftist propaganda. Put out by the world socialists, packaging it as Robin Hood fairytale told over and over and over again.

Propping up the free market as the cause of all evils in the world. From pollution to slavery and the poor class itself.

That is why they fall for it. They are so conditioned that they think facts are hate speech.

Meanwhile, when any of us ask why if socialism or marxism was so great, then why aren't our poor people floating down to Cuba to escape the tyranny of having Burger Kings or choices at 7Elevens, to their glorious universal healthcare.

There has never been one report of that happening. No one was trying to break in East Germany to live there when it was communism. They sure as shit were trying to get out.

That's our proof and hardly ever brought up. Certainly not in history classes. In fact the left are told to equate the Trump wall to the Berlin Wall. The Berlin wall was built for exact opposite reason and that was keep people in. IT WAS A GIANT FUCKING PRISON WALL.

The left are destroying history. They are tearing down history. They are reeducating the masses.

That is why.
