Fascism and socialism are definitely kissing cousins and share many of the same concepts. The main difference is socialism focuses on social equality, i.e. classless society in which all share and share alike with equality of outcome--totally unworkable and, except for those who hold the power, guaranteed to restrict liberties and make all poorer.

Fascism focuses on strengthening the nation, is usually expansionist, totalitarian by nature, and utilizes any means necessary to suppress or destroy its opposition. More workable than socialism and often more successful, but, except for those who hold the power, also guaranteed to restrict liberties and make all poorer.

Whether fascism is left or right depends on whose definition you use. Either can be correct according to some definitions.

If you go by the genocidal death counts, yes they do. Of course Hitler was confined to mostly white Europe when the Allies took him out and forced Germany to an unconditional surrender. We don't know what he might have done had he conquered Africa and other non-white parts of the world without challenge.

The reason Donald Trump, despite clinched fist and all, was neither fascist nor socialist is that ALL of his policies and goals resulted in more individual capitalism, more liberty and prosperity for the people. Yes he was focused on a strong, free, prosperous America that nobody would dare challenge as the best hope for world peace and prosperity. And it was working before the 2020 election.

He was not expansionist. Was not pro big government, totalitarian control. There was simply no fascist characteristics in his vision or goals.

The problem is that Democrat policies have helped none of these to prosper unless they go into politics which is a whole other culture. And because the MSM won't report that, it is difficult for them to get good information and takes awhile to figure things out. Let's hope they are figuring it out.
