Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead pushes state pols to replace antiquated Electoral College system

Hillary Clinton’s popular vote lead pushes state pols to replace antiquated Electoral College system
Damn shame isn't it? More folks voted for Hillary but we still have to put up with that red faced, orange haired monkey for the next four years!

Interesting. I've heard no one of import calling for scrapping the Electoral College.

And yes you do. Maybe eight.

Really you haven't? Trump said on 60 Minutes that he would be in favor of looking to get rid of it. Is he important?

Give me the quote and source.

Lesley Stahl: Now, for months, you were running around saying that the system is rigged, the whole thing was rigged. You tweeted once that the Electoral College is a disaster for democracy.

Donald Trump: I do.

Lesley Stahl: So do you still think it’s rigged?

Donald Trump: Well, I think the electoral ca-- look, I won with the Electoral College.

Lesley Stahl: Exactly. But do you think--

Donald Trump: You know, it’s--

Lesley Stahl: --it’s rigged?

Donald Trump: Yeah, some of the election locations are. Some of the system is. I hated--

Lesley Stahl: Even though you won you’re saying that--

Donald Trump: I hated-- well, you know, I’m not going to change my mind just because I won. But I would rather see it where you went with simple votes. You know, you get 100 million votes and somebody else gets 90 million votes and you win. There’s a reason for doing this because it brings all the states into play. Electoral College and there’s something very good about that. But this is a different system. But I respect it. I do respect the system.

Please indicate where Trump states he wants to scrap the Electoral College.

That would take a Constitutional Amendment, tard. You people tried this after your hissy fit in 2000 and it didn't go anywhere.

That's him playing both sides of the fence trying to save face with the Republican party. That doesn't change the other statements he made.

It's pretty hard to argue with him saying that the Electoral College is a disaster to Democracy, and that he would rather have it be en election by simple votes. You do understand what disaster means? What "rather" means?

No, that's him tamping down the anti-EC nonsense until he's sworn in and ass-rapes the Democrats in January.

Yeah she has extended her popular vote lead by 714,000 votes. We may get lucky and won't have to stay drunk for the next 4 years to get through Trump.

Trump is due in court on November 28, 2016 for fraud and racketeering charges regarding Trump University. If he is convicted in this case, the American public will not stand for a sitting President who ripped Americans off, and hopefully the U.S. Supreme court would step into this, but who knows. If convicted, at minimum he would be a lame duck President for the next 4 years.

Then if he is convicted for fraud regarding his foundation that is under investigation by the New York State Attorney generals office.

So those are the ace cards if they don't fizzel out.

But what I am really hoping for, is that people in the United States and abroad are boycotting any Trump golf course, hotel, casino, steaks, wine, & whatever other business he is involved in. Bankrupt the SOB.

I've already said this, but I'll say it again. There has been 4 times when the President elect has won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote. Benjamin Harrison, Rutherford B. Hayes, Bush, and Trump. All Republicans. Why is this an issue now? Because it has happened twice in 16 years.

Trump's team is already asking that the case be postponed until after his inauguration.

Thing is, this is a process established by the Constitution. If states want to change it, 33 of them need to get in line to amend it. Otherwise pipe down and shaddap.

Uh, it's a CIVIL suit, fuckwad.

There is no "conviction."

You Communists are as stupid as you are hate filled.

But Campbell is a special snowflake. We can't expect the Constitution to take precedence over the wants of a special snowflake!

Did I mention that Campbell is special?
