Higher court lifts lower court's block on Louisiana 10 commandments ruling, can now be posted in schools

Oh...just a little something called "The Establishment Clause". Perhaps you've heard of it? :)

Oh please enlighten us. Tell us how that has anything to do with the God mentioned on our money.

You liberals try to sound intelligent, but in the end you're just a bunch of dumbfucks. That has NOTHING to do with the God mentioned on our money, all that does is say that congress can't make a law about religion. NOTHING to do with our money, or the God that is mentioned on it.

Nice try, though. I'm sure someone on this board will think you sound intelligent. But I sure don't.

No. You believe your white version of Christian "God" is absolute. The founding fathers were progressives that understood that religious freedom was a cornerstone of this county. "God" to them was an abstract. And to be fair, this thread is about the 10 Commandments...a decidedly Christian story.

Though shall not covet thy neighbor's wife....jeez.

Nope, the judge in this case stated:

"Ho argued that the Supreme Court has effectively overturned the Stone ruling, even if it hasn’t explicitly said so, because it scrapped the legal doctrine that underpinned that ruling. He went further, writing that law reflects the Founding Fathers’ “firm belief that the children of America should be educated about the religious foundations and traditions of our country.”
Texas lost an identical case a few years back. I am betting the same thing happens here.

Where did he get that from the Constitution's establishment clause and what has changed since that ruling?

The ruling just overturned a temporary injunction by the ACLU and only temporarily allows the display while the case is decided.

I didn't see this coming. I just don't see the point. But it's just a plaque on the wall.

It is more than a plaque, it is a gentle reminder of kids to help keep the idea of morality in the back of their minds.

Those not so preconditioned already to block all thought of morality and ethics out of their heads will see it, look at it, and various part(s) of it will speak to them.

It will play a role by simply being there and not forcefully blocked from their sight by the state.

Jack, do the world a favor and crawl back under your blanket with your bottle of rotgut and keep your TDS racism and communist leanings to yourself instead of trying to put us down for not being perfect Christians and actually still needing the 10 Commandments.

After all, if everyone were perfect, then no one would need to see them! ITMT, at least most conservatives only have a few failings, what you need to point out is how the Left violates all TEN of them daily.

If fact, Moses might have to think about adding 3-4 more on to his tablet just for Demscum these days.

Really? What's written on our money, dumbass? :laugh2:

Jack is too dimwitted to realize that when our nation was founded, Christianity was 99.99% the only religion here TO practice. It is only through Christian magnanimity over the years that we have allowed in the flood of other religions.

Off topic. Reported.

If you can't respond about the 10 commandments in schools, then **** OFF.
I responded to the OP
Remember I said the supreme court signaling to the lower courts not to use past supreme court decisions, but their future decisions.

Which was the basis under which the 5th circuit overturned the stay, because that's what the supreme court would do.

Cool thing about religion…it doesn’t require you to be perfect .

Yea, because if you're that perfect, you don't need religion. It won't do you any good.

I once saw a sign at a church that said "Perfect people not welcome. Sinners only."

Our money also says "good for all debts public or private" Yet more and more places don't take cash.

You can't trust everything the money says.

Um that's a decision made by the individual company, not the gov't. Doesn't change the fact that it IS legal tender. There is no federal law mandating that a private business accept cash.

Are you really this stupid?

Um, no, the overwhelming majority of the founding fathers were church going Christians.

Prove otherwise.

As a lifelong christian it only seems right to let all religions put up plaques now as well.

But that's what it says on the federal reserve note.
Good for all debts. Along with In GOD we trust.

As you said, they can't force private business or people to accept either one.
