Pelosi runs the capitol Police.
The Sergeants of Arms of the House and Senate, primarily the house, were the ones who turned down use of the National Guard because they were worried about the 'OPTICS' of having a militarized DC that day.
President Trump never ORDERED the national Guard to be used on 1/6 - he did not have the authority to do so / The mayor of DC had to do so. She did not. They were told to be on 'stand-by'.
And Politifact has been completely debunked as a legitimate Fact-Check site, so apre everyone the waste of time providing them as evidence of anything.
ALL of this has been proven, substantiated in the nonpartisan committee's investigation report released recently and by other sources, the links to all I have posted recently and that you can find on your own.
The committee's report and the IG's report provided Trump had no part in either the Lafayette Park Clearing or the violence on 1/6.
The DC Mayor took responsibility for the Lafayette Park clearing / crowd gassing in an attempt to clear the park of violent extremists whose violence resulted in the 1st family being rushed to the WH Bunker, DHS / FBI / Local Police / Secret Service members having to push back the violence, and 14 Secret Service members were injured in the 'insurrection'. Again, the DC Mayor ordered the park cleared after this so more / additional security fencing could be installed.
The bipartisan committee made it clear the Capitol police were at fault for the 1/6 violence, citing a lack of training, lack of a contingency plan, lack of leadership, lack of leadership during the event, lack of communication / teamwork between the capitol police and the FBI, lack of communication (& technological ability to communicate w/National Guard), never having trained with the FBI and national Guard, resulkting iun the failure to prepare, prevent, and protect.
The report also pointed out that on 1/6 Pelosi did NOT call the 1/6 protestors 'terrorists' or call the event an 'insurrection' but described it as protestors attempting to prevent the certification of the election', that the false 'insurrection' narrative did not come until after Democrat Party leadership gathered together to discuss the event (and how best to use it for partisan benefit, obviously).
The report and experts rejected the idea that it was an 'insurrection' because those involved in the entry into the Capitol were UNARMED - had no weapons, took selfies, wandered around, and stole memorabilia/souvenirs - something NOT associated with 'terrorist attacks' or 'insurrections'.
Can the 'Orange Man Bad' emotion, and focus on the actual evidence / facts.
