Republicans are under the delusion that all far lefties want to get rid of capitalism altogether. While some misguided liberals do express this, for the most part that isn’t what we want. I mean this sure as hell is not what democrats in office want - not even close.

There’s no denying that capitalism is essential for any nation’s economy to be successful. A private market itself is important. Hell most nations know this anyway. I mean contrary to popular belief, Venezuela has a private market. The government is simply incompetent so that’s why it is a failed state.

To me, capitalism in America in the 50’s is the dream. Capitalism now in America? It’s a complete joke. Unfettered capitalism sounds good on paper, but it simply isn’t in practice.

Let me sum up how corporations today view labor:

“Okay so how much can we pay our employees to at least keep them productive and keep a steady flow of applicants? Turnover isn’t a big deal so long as new people come in a steady flow. Obviously we aren’t concerned about paying them a wage they can live off of. We just meed to maximize profit.”

This is where the government needs to step in.

In the 50's, much of the world was rebuilding after WWII. America had a "monopoly" of manufacturing much of the world's goods such as automobiles. Okay, not a complete monopoly, but close enough.

The 1950's were horrible for the working class. No one could afford anything. That's why consumer credit was conceived. It allowed/forced people to borrow in order to buy stuff. While it stimulated the economy it plunged many into hopeless consumer debt.

This is where the government needs to step in.

And do what?
Raising the minimum wage. Give workers stake in profits to some extent. Make unions stronger. Work towards guaranteeing good benefits for any full time workers.

Corporate profits are at an all time high by the way. Many corporations can afford these reforms on a long enough timeframe of implementation.

The 50’s weren’t perfect I’m sure. It just can’t be worse than now.

It's the creed of every collectivist totalitarian.
"It's all great but we just need to give the govt the power to do this...".
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

All lefties want the govt telling them what to do so they have a ready excuse to base everything they do on strong emotions rather than making rational decisions for themselves.
They feel this saves them from being accountable for their actions

How about the fed govt stays in it's own lane & stops picking winners & losers in business?
How about the most minimal & only common sense regs & let the rest of us work things out on our own?
I know the idea of being responsible for something scares the crap out of you lefty collectivists

Raising the minimum wage.

States and localities are free to do that. Or not.

Give workers stake in profits to some extent

"Give" them? The government doesn't own the company.

Make unions stronger.

As long as we make government unions illegal.

Work towards guaranteeing good benefits for any full time workers.

The government doesn't own the company.

Corporate profits are at an all time high by the way.

Yup.

Many corporations can afford these reforms on a long enough timeframe of implementation.

And if they want to do them, they will. No government force needed.

^^^^ That is absolute nonsense ... :cuckoo:
It costs corporations a lot of money to continually hire and train new employees.
They know it's way more cost effective to treat employees good and pay them a decent wage, so they will stay with the company and be productive workers.

1) No we don't think that since the Global corporations bought all of the lefty politicians. You are Cultural not Economic Marxists.
2) The Venezuelan government confiscated all of the corporations companies in virtually all sectors in VZ. Full blown economic communism. Yes there are restaurants, grocery stores, and other mom and pop operations. Maduro even seized the largest toy manufacturer in VZ years ago. They stole all of the toys and handed them out for "free".

Lol you’re completely dense dude. No shit corporations currently don’t have to do these things. The point is they should be forced to. Don’t like that idea? Quite honestly I don’t care lol

Are you sure you've got that right? The American left might think they want capitalism, but in fact don't quite understand what they really need in order to fulfill their wants. They want what will work for them and then they think that America's capitalist system can be reformed.

That used to be true, but is no longer so certain, due to China's success with a combined system of socialism (socially responsible government) and capitalism. China has found a way of eliiminating low intelligence leadership which is the plague that prevents America's brand of capitalism from working well for the masses.
To me, capitalism in America in the 50’s is the dream. Capitalism now in America? It’s a complete joke. Unfettered capitalism sounds good on paper, but it simply isn’t in practice.
The 50's capitalism can't be brought back, even if it would fix the current system.
No, in fact unfettered and unconstrained capitalism doesn't sound good on paper. In fact it's the enemy, which you yourself has come to understand.
Let me sum up how corporations today view labor:

Yes! And corporations need to understand the priorities that are good for the country. That's the reason why I'll ask you to consider the changes to capitalism that have been made in China.

I've offered you an answer that can at least serve until you can get a better one. I don't think there 'is' a better answer.

And you can safely assume that my answer does included 'socialism' within all capitalist systems that survive!

That's the factor that's gone missing in America since the 50's.
