Mortgages went up due to American agendas enacted in the 1960's and the West in a malaise throughout the 1970's which included the rise of feminism, affirmative action and diversity. Deficits started to rise, and we lost control of our fiat currency. That affected other nations also.

Whenever the corporateocracy is faced with any semblance of restraint it is "here comes the pain", like a drug addict that has to go cold turkey. Those 'cheap' vegetables, tee shirts, electronics etc that we like wouldn't seem so cheap if the cost associated with unemployment, costs of illegal labor, inflation were listed on your receipt but they're not, they are included in your federal ta form and Congress' investment portfolios. It also is reflected in our continuing bullying of other nations for our hegemony instead of building trade relations that actually work. To be fair, you weren't complaining about any fiscal pain when Biden/Harris were president.

We were paying $8 a gallon for gas in Canada - in very large part a direct result of Trump's December 2020 Agreement with OPEC, which he signed AFTER he lost the election, to keep oil production at pandemic levels, as the world prepared to vaccinate and re-open.

But YOU, in your idiocy, blamed Biden for the gas prices. This is just one of many poison pills, Trump left behind for Biden and the US economy. Firing all of the customs officers and decimating the Department of Commerce, slowed the flow of goods into the country at ports of entry.

Other nations had inflation and economic problems recovering from the pandemic but no nation suffered the same level of economic collapse, and inability to reboot that the USA dealt with, which were caused, in large part, by the mess Trump left behind.
