Here are the “rich” Mamdani wants to tax

War? What war? This isn’t a war. It’s, uh, something totally different that is almost done except when it isn’t and we don’t know when it’s done, either with Iran surrenders unconditionally or whenever Trump gets a certain feeling. And they definitely know what they’re doing and everything is going according to plan but they can’t tell you anything about what’s going on.

Dems are happy to find every part of DHS other than ICE while they wait for Republicans to come to the table and agree to common sense reforms to reign in an out of control agency.
I thought this was a war. The Dems tried to pass some War thing to block Trump.

“We” do what makes sense? And who is this “we” who decides that taking money from the middle class and directing it to wasteful Democrat schemes makes more sense than letting the middle class earner decide what to do with his own money?
We as in the country through our elected representatives.

You’re the one who wants to jack up taxes on poor people, so you’re clearly talking out both sides of your mouth.
Take me. IF I have $1 million remaining at the time of my demise (all depends on whether the nursing home eats it up), I would rather divide it among the people who have been kind to me in life, along with a few charities. Why should the government get to take it and fund an Islamic Day Care fraud scheme and ultimately have my money go to Arabs who hate Jews?
I would rather never pay any taxes but sadly that’s not possible. Our country needs to put their big boy pants on and stop pretending the problem will go away on its own.

Johnson said it’s not a war so he blocked it.

Hegseth won’t call it a war.

Trump says it’s a “little excursion”.

These guys can’t talk straight and be honest.

Calling people commies for supporting taxes is childish.

It’s a poor attempt at deflecting.

Sorry you don’t like estate taxes. No one likes any taxes. We do what makes sense.
No, government confiscating from the middle class.
I don't mind fair taxes, paying my "fair share", I don't like
getting raped by our government.

Fair is meaningless. Life isn’t fair. Some people inherit millions, billions. The vast majority don’t.

Stop using emotionally driven rhetoric.

Paying $10k in taxes on $800k estate isn’t rape.

What about a two million dollar estate? Not every estate is your 800,000 number.
What's 90% of 1,250,000?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

That is rape. Now **** off.

Not sure what the tax burden on a $2 million estate would be since the articles don’t say anything about the tax brackets. They definitely didn’t say anything about 90% tax rate.

I can’t find any comprehensive data, but it sure as hell looks like a $2 million estate is quite rare. Pretending like this is some burden on middle class families is not coherent.

If Trump did that, you would not think well of him.

90% over 750,000 is what Mamdani is pushing, 40% fed, 50% Mamdani.
Seems like he is pushing to get the rich into the middle class bracket. :eusa_whistle:

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has endorsed a 50% death tax rate.

Combined with the federal rate of 40%, and after accounting for deductibility, New Yorkers will face a combined federal-state Death Tax rate of 70%. The highest in the world.

Mamdani wants to drastically expand the Death Tax net. Any New Yorker who dies with $750k of assets will be hit.

As noted by Bloomberg News:

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani wants to slash New York state’s estate tax exemption threshold by almost 90%, from a more than $7 million limit to $750,000, and raise the top estate tax rate from 16% to 50%.

The federal exemption is $14 million.

We don’t see the tax brackets in the proposal. We don’t know when the top marginal rate kicks in.

A $2 million estate for a middle-class couple with college educations and decades of a professional career - AND WHO SAVED RESPONSIBLY - is quite achievable, especially when you factor in home equity.

I never said it wasn’t achievable.

But it’s not common. You keep shifting the rhetoric. It’s not honest.

The way it is going, in a decade $2 million will be like $200,000 today.

Why don’t you guys care about the amount of debt you’re saddling on future generations? People who aren’t even born are going to have to suffer because of you.
How old are you? If you are 16+ the vast majority of the debt has been on your watch.

Excellent point!

It’s almost tripled in the last 15 years alone, from $13 trillion in 2010 to $36 trillion in 2025.

That means that if Moroner is in his 30s, he’s been voting for this big skyrocketing debt his entire adult life. We, on the other hand, were voting back in the days the debt was $5 trillion (and less).

IOW, the debt didn’t skyrocket until the millennials started voting. Yet, he blames the boomers.

He voted for Barry Hussein and Tater, who ran up more debt in 8 and 4 yrs, respectively, in history.

And when you think about it, things were going well in the 80s - before these young whippersnappers started voting and ruining things.

Mamdani proposes that NY slash its estate tax ceiling from $7 million to $750,000. Below are photos of how these “rich” live, and from whom Mamdani wants to steal in order to give out more welfare, as each house is in the market in NY for more than $800k.

The stupid liberal fools who voted for Mamdani don't realize the term 'rich' comes with no definition other than 'what we need in taxes to support our Marxist agenda.'

Who says the goal is wealth redistribution? I don’t envy those who have more than I do. I may aspire to reach their level and that is what spurs ambition. In this country, wealth is attainable by anyone. That is not the case in many other countries.

Actually, wealth redistribution happens through legislation or revolution. Better the former.

France 1787
Russia 1917
China 1949
Cuba 1959
Iran 1979

They all had what you think is wonderful. But eventually the poor just got sick of it.

If 60% of the population has no stake in your system, it will not last.

Heck, even Trump plays the Class Envy Card. (But only against rich people who consider him crass and uncouth.)

Back to wealth redistribution, those of you that complain so much about it don’t have clue just how good the vast majority of people in the country have it compared to most other countries. Just because someone may not be nearly as wealthy as the top, doesn’t mean that they can’t have a decent standard of living, particularly when compared to the rest of the world.
Actually, Europe and Japan are far more advanced than we are... with China getting ready to eat our lunch.
