HELP!

OK. I remember an old computer game that I really liked, but I can't remember the name. Something to do with islands in the sky. You had to take over the islands. I believe it MAY have involved building bridges in order to get to the next island and conquer it. Basically a 4X game, if I remember correctly. If you don't know what a 4X game is, then you probably can't help me. It stands for Xplore, Xpand, Xploit, and Xterminate. Does anyone know which game it is? At first I thought it was Islands in the net, but that's also the name of a book. Perhaps they're related? Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

THAT'S IT! Thanks. That was a pretty cool game. Wish there were more like it. Maybe Gearbox, or some other company can bring it back, like they did for Dungeon Keeper 2 and and Homeworld.
