Help. Unwanted popups. How do we stop them?

Well, get a good pop up blocker. I get none on this site.I

I don't either and never have, the OP was complaining about aggressive pop-ups constantly everywhere

I have adblocker ultimate and it works great

But thanks for the input everybody.
I am certainly no computer expert but i had the same problem, whatever you do don't click on that pop up, can't remember but i believe i went into security setting and found that McAffee had another site attached to it which i can't remember the name of but that site was causing the problem so i deleted it no problem since, hope this helps.

No. I was complaining only about aggressive McAfee popups on my husband's computer with no way to stop them. I had uninstalled the built in McAfee on his computer long ago. Installed adblocker though and that did stop them. I have not had that problem occur on my computer but I am much more careful about clicking on random links than he is.

Stopping all popups is not an option for us as so many of the games we play include mandatory popups which are not a problem.

try ublock origin, it's better than ad block ultimate.

youtube started injecting server side 3 seconds ads that is annoying

ublock blocks them, ad block could not

you get popups playing online games?

just to go ublock and turn off ad blocking on that site

some sites won't work well as they need a popup, usually a security ticket

We need the popups in the games. Again adblock plus solved the problem of the McAfee popups which was our only problem.

Thanks but I think you missed the part that Adblock plus solved the problem entirely?

I did not but youtube now inject these quick annoying ads and adblock could not stop them, ublock does
this tells me it's more updated

you can add it to firefox like I did and just disable adblock, don't uninstall and see if you like it better?

I appreciate your effort to help but honestly I'm fine. No irritating or annoying issues. I don't mind the UTube ads which are minimal as they pay for a service I very much enjoy being able to use for free. I don't even after Adblock on my computer because most sites I visit ask or require you to disable it anyway.

I can't stand trying to watch a video how to do something and then some stupid 5 second ad for nothing I care about

google owns youtube.....trust me they don't need the ad revenue
many people pay to get rid of the ads, more money in their pocket

google is a worth over a trillion dollars

Your choice. I honestly don't mind a few seconds ad. I know nothing provided for us by others is free. Somebody has to pay for it. I like to pay my own way and think watching a 5 second ad is a pretty good bargain.

youtube was always free so you are not paying your way exactly, more like making a trillion dollar company richer because they offer a service and then annoy you with mini ads to force you to pay them, extortion actually

Well. I still know that if it weren't for those ads there would be a less free stuff on the internet. So I prefer free to paywalls and don't mind 'paying' with a few seconds of a video I don't watch anyway.
