Liar. Hegseth was in the National Guard. Austin went to West Point. Don't try twisting things to make Austin unqualified and make Hegseth somehow more qualified. We know he never carried a rifle in battle, generals do not kick doors in.
Its a token medal for being there.
He did not do anything positive for the Defense Department, his actions all hurt readiness.
On September 1, 2010, at a ceremony at Al-Faw Palace in Baghdad, Austin was promoted to the rank of general, becoming the Army's 200th four-star general officer and the sixth African American in the U.S. Army to achieve the top rank. He subsequently assumed the role of Commanding General (CG) of United States Forces – Iraq (USF-I), becoming the first African American in history to command an entire theater of war.
Lloyd Austin - Wikipedia
What theatre of war has Hegseth held command in? What does he know about the strategic movements of a mass number of troops or coordination of military attacks with the navy and air force from his experience in the National Guard?
If Hegseth was black, you'd call him a DEI hire. But he's white, so he's automatically qualified.
Racist mf.
