Most of today's Republicans come from the rural counties of the southern states, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North and South Carolina. Psychologists, sociologists and anthropologists will be studying this period for a long time.
