The Democrats are in bad shape today. That much is obvious. They lost Congress by record amounts over the last two election cycles. They dont control a single state government from NC to AZ. Their best hope for president is an old woman already caught in a lie about her two devices and a looming scandal about deleted emails. And there is no second choice there.
The Obama/Pelosi/Reid troika destroyed younger Democrats in Congress, forcing them to vote on things like Obamacare (most of those who voted for it left or were kicked out in the next 2 election cycles), leaving a void in party leadership. Obama's jihad against Israel has alienated Jewish voters, an important Democrat base. The party seems out of ideas, except spending more money for free shit for people.
Can the democrats reform themselves and move to the center to attract more votes? Or will they be relegated to the fringe party, the party of gay marriage and free stuff?

They don't control Indiana. How'd that work out for you RWnuts?

Democrats cannot win national elections without a black man at the top of the ticket. You do understand that...don't you?

And 7 out of 10 white men in America are not. Tough to get the white vote....particularly white men....when the Democrat Party has implied for decades that white men hate minorities and women and actively try to screw them over.

And white women per polling no longer accept or believe the bullshit "war on women crap." Mark Udall ran solely on that and lost big. Hillary will try to do the same. Good luck.

I should also point out that in 1988, George H. Bush won 60% of the white vote. He won 11% of the black vote and 30 % of the Hispanic vote. That was enough of a mix to give him 53% of the overall vote and easily win 40 states.

Now, Romney got 59% of the White vote, which is the best performance since Bush Sr. But unlike 1988 where whites were 88% of the electorate, they are only 72% now. Romney won 27% of the HIspanic vote and 6% of the Black vote.

So now you have 2016 rolling around, and if the Democrats nominate Hillary or O'Malley or Webb or Warren, they will be running a white person. That means a lot of the racism animating the anti-Obama vote isn't going to be there this time.
