That buying a chicken sandwich or not is headline news?
I agree america has some problems, and one of which is so called news. It is what happens when you force a relatively boring thing like news to compete for ratings and profit. The reality is news entertainment makes more money and has better ratings than presenting facts in an unbiased way.
Still, if you are feeling this burned out on either side perhaps it is time to take a break from the media and go have some fun. I can understand why many republicans are fearful and think the world is ending. It is hammered into their heads every day, and the news is twisted to promote anger and fearful feelings.
The reality is that america is not terrible, and there are many good things. despite my fears of how truly piss poor our government is, it has always been that way. We survived far worse things than any of our present candidates. Though many might feel like the candidates they hate are out to destroy the system and crash the country, in the end they all realize it is that system which allows them to live at the top. Last year congress was trying to hold america hostage, but in the end they caved because it is america that allows them to live the cushy lives they have, and if they crash that their lives get hit far worse than any of ours.
i have learned through the hard times in my life that there is fun and good things even in a shithole. granted it is nice to work for better things, but when your happiness is not based on possessions and your success is not based on how much shit you have, you can find both easily tomorrow no matter what happens. If you base your happiness and success on frivelous possessions and things you do not own then someone else can certainly take away your happiness.
People often think i am angry because i argue a lot online. The reality is the opposite. I can argue a lot because i like to do so. If I did not enjoy the argument I would have probably bought a automatic rifle and shot up a political convention myself. So take a break if the bullshit is getting you down. If you submerge yourself in shit and never do something you like of course the world will look like shit and nothing else.
Confucious say: man who spend too much time looking at shit he stepped in miss the sunrise. I say toss the shit at your dog owning neighbors house and then watch the sunrise and listen to their screams.
