When I was a young man, Harvard used to be a serious institution of learning.

Today, they are reduced to teaching their pupils about Taylor Swift, the course being taught by a cross-dressing she-male, Steve Burt.

I know that President Trump is seeking to defund Harvard because of their rabid antisemitism.

But even if they weren't discriminatory, is this really "higher education"?

I have nothing against Taylor Swift. She really knows how to be a celebrity, and she is certainly presentable. Does sound like my favorite female voice- Yoko Ono- but to each their own.

The real question is whether this is a proper course of study that should be supported by the taxpayers.

Harvard university MAY experience a fairly rough road ahead for them.

Such studies could be valid if they are serious and not just a feminist circle jerk.

You guys really are morons. Most classes like this are writing classes where the subject doesnt really matter. Its how you write about it. I think you all would have benefited from a few writing classes based on your posts here.

It doesn’t really matter if the subject is Taylor Swift, Shakespeare, or baseball statistics—the value of a class like this is in the skills it builds. Students are practicing how to form a thesis, support it with evidence, structure an argument clearly, and persuade a reader. The subject matter is simply the lens—it’s the critical thinking, writing, and communication skills that are the real takeaway. You are welcome.

What does this qualify the pupil for?

Pouring coffee at Starbucks?

Schools need to teach important skills to help people, electrical engineering or proctology.

Back in day when leading LGBTQ+ actor Richard Gere reportedly had a gerbil stuck in his butt, he needed someone qualified to rescue the poor critter, not an expert in a pop singer.

Did you find that in the course description? Can you link to it?

its a filler for the time spent inside the walls of a building that mass produces diplomas/degrees for huge sums of taxpayer money...
...the "student" is given money from the government, the "student" is then required to hand that money over to the/a school, the school then prints up a receipt called a degree, gives it to the borrower and then politicians in the schools hip pocket promise to forgive the loan while the socially educated point to how many "college students" voted for said politicians while the school counts its money.

What in my post leads you to believe that a course description tells you why a class exists vs what is covered? My experience in academia led me to explain the obvious to this bunch of Neanderthals salivating to criticize classes they dont understand. Just offering help to the drowning masses.

Taylor Swift does not only write about "guys she dumped". She is a very skilled songwriter and there is real value in analyzing her songs if you are into literary critique, poetry, songwriting or writing in general.

You are just envious of her success and hate her for not liking your political party.

Snowflake behavior.

In my experience, the sounds like a joke classes ended up being hard AF because the profs could just declare whatever they wanted right or wrong, and jerk people around as much as they wanted because there was no real scholarship on the subjects. They would often start off standing room only and finish the term with like 4 students.

Argued like a person who got jollied into sinking $80,000 a year into 'Taylor Swift' Studies before realizing he could just buy her CDs for $8.99 at any Walmart, now can't get a refund. :lmao:
