In most cases the slavery was more like indentured servitude. Nothing like the white man's terrible slavery.Caputred Indian boys often rose in the ranks and some even became chiefs of the tribes who enslaved them. Smoking Pipe of the Lenape ( Munsee ) is one such example.

The continent was 'new' to most of Europe at that time. The indigenous people were just a collection of tribes there was no cohesive country. Most fought amongst themselves and even took slaves.

Typical liberal propaganda and they fall for it every time. I imagine Indigenous people feel a lot better about their squalled alcoholic existence since a mentally impaired president dedicated a day in their honor.
