I don't have a problem with anyone being against the Vietnam war, it certainly was a complete waste of lives and money, and since like all wars in the last 75 years, America doesn't fight wars to win anyway.

My problem with her is the way she went about her protesting, and IMO she'll always be scum.

How old was she? Not very old. What she did was a very good thing. She was instrumental in bringing the end to the war and letting teenage boys have normal lives. THAT was an amazing thing to do. How do you think she could have done it better? It's not a question, just saying that she saved a whole lot of lives and it doesn't matter how she did it. She did it and that's the only thing that is important. Deserters and draft-dodgers were the courageous ones. Guys like me only did what we were told to do without an once of courage. It wasn't our fault but the truth is the truth. If you stick two pit bulls in a ring they have no choice but to fight. That's what happened to us and we were just kids, Shame on those who put us in that position. Jane Fonda was naïve but also brave. She came too late to save me but she did save so many after me. She'll always be a hero to me.

That is a ridiculous claim to say Jane Fonda was a "traitor".
What was illegal was the US preventing the plebiscite in Vietnam and installing Diem as a dictator instead.
That was not only evil, but an obvious violation of the Geneva Peace Accords that international law had worked out.
The reality is Jane Fonda was a hero, who sacrificed her career in order to stop the murders.
But we still murdered over 3 million innocent Vietnamese.

I disagree.
The Vietnamese had a right to be free of foreign colonial imperialist invaders like the French and US.
The US was in violation of the Geneva Peace Accord and international law.
She helped turn the public opinion against the evil war and end it.
There was no way the US could have even won, so we would have lost far more people if not for her.

The YS Government should have invalidated her passport and citizenship the moment she stepped foot in North Vietnam. My father (a vet) wouldn’t allow anything with her in it to be viewed in our home growing up.

Those supporting the US takeover of Vietnam should have been jailed since what we did was criminal.
We murdered over 3 million innocent people who just wanted their own country to be free of foreign imperialists.

NONE.
The ones responsible for getting our soldiers killed were people like LBJ who use the draft to force people to kill or be killed.
Fonda helped END the murdering that was going on.
