Half of all New Yorkers will flee city in next 5 years as quality of life plummets post-pandemic: poll

Just half of all New Yorkers plan to stay in the city over the next five years, and anger over quality of life has skyrocketed since the pandemic — with just 30% saying they’re happy here, according to a damning poll from the The Citizens Budget Commission.
The non-profit think tank’s first such post-pandemic survey, released Tuesday, also found that only 37% of New Yorkers thought public safety in their neighborhood was excellent or good, down from 50% six years ago.
When asked if they planned to stay in the Big Apple until 2028, only 50% of those surveyed said yes, down from 58% in 2017, according to the CBC.

Despite Adams’ appointment of a rat czar to control the city’s millions of rodents, Hizzoner’s prioritization of rat control was not a bright spot on the poll.
Only 27% of residents polled were happy with the city’s efforts to eradicate rats last year, down from 45% in 2017, when Bill de Blasio was mayor.
Commentary:
Unfortunately, last November New York city voted 89% Democrat transitioning from DeBlasio to Adams, similar to jumping from the frying pan to fire.
The city is now overrun by "Rats" of many genre.
There is no longer any particular reason for NYC to be anything special.
It was invented 300 years ago and was geographically lucky for most of its growth. (Location, Location, Location). That’s all gone now.
Like a balloon letting it’s air out, it will collapse under it’s own weight.
Like the rest of NYS, it will soon be an abandoned husk, and will not revive within the lifetime of any person reading this post.
As a former New Yorker, its sad to see such a great place get taken down in just a few years. Unless something happens at the ballot box, it will only get worse-if worse is even possible.
Residents of New York have the following to look foward to:
- Crime off the charts,
- high Taxation,
- High cost of living,
- Traffic congestion,
- You take your life in your hands riding the subways even during the day,
- Streets and highways are falling apart due to lack of repair,
- People and businesses exiting in droves,
- You can’t go a few days without some type of disruptive protest or riot about something,
Did I leave anything out?
