The problem with your argument is that if magazines are limited, it will be part of a bill that bans the guns anyway so I am not sure the trickery is as tricky as you try to paint it as being.

First.........the laws we have set up what is acceptable behavior, and if you break the law you are punished......

The speed limit is 35 if you go 40 you get a ticket.

It is against the law to commit murder...if you do you go to jail.......

You guys want special laws that attempt to prevent criminals from breaking laws....instead of dealing with reality where you can only punish after a law has been broken.......

The answer to your first point.....if you are a law abiding citizen in a fight for your life, and you are injured.....your small motor control is going to be screwed up by adrenaline...which means if you have to change magazines...it is going to be far more difficult...at a time your life depends on it....if you had a standard magazine you don't have to change magazines as often or at all.....

As the link pointed out...mass shooters are shooting unarmed people....at a slow rate of fire so magazine changes do not effect their kill rate......they are not affected by magazine limits....

What magazine capacity laws do....it turns law abiding people into felons for an item that does not create crime, and the lack of that item doesn't prevent crime.....but it allows you to punish normal gun owners.


To do what you are implying you want......you make having a magazine for a gun in the commission of a crime an add on offense........that way you don't ban them for normal gun owners, and you can actually punish actual criminals...

And no...the research done on magazine capacity shows that it does not matter to mass public shooters.......they can easily kill with 10 round magazines and change them out....they are not in a hurry, they are shooting people who can't shoot back....so the 1-2 seconds it takes to change a magazine is no problem for them.....
