By "Greene" I mean Marjorie Taylor Greene and many of her consituents and like minded people outside her district.

Here is what Greene said about healthcare:

In a long post on X, Greene, the far-right MAGA firebrand, made it clear she was not in Congress when the 2010 law passed.

“Let’s just say as nicely as possible, I’m not a fan,” she wrote. “But I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district.”

“No I’m not towing the party line on this, or playing loyalty games. I’m a Republican and won’t vote for illegals to have any tax payer funded healthcare or benefits. I’m AMERICA ONLY!!!” Greene added.

Greene represents what the media called 'uneducated whites' in the aftermath of the 2016 election. They are not wealthy, and do not believe that the wealthy are vital to the economy. But they don't support Democrat's class-envy because they are not pro-illegal immigrant and they are not woke on LGBT for kids.

I don't believe that MTG's kids premiums are going to double if the COVID-era subsidies expire. Those subsidies go directly to the insurance companies, they are not deducted form premium prices. The subsidies are given with no strings requiring them to keep premiums down to a set level.

As they always have, the health insurance providers will charge what the market will bear. I've seen no evidence that the market will suddenly be able to bear doubled premiums after January 1st.

But MTG believes it and so do her kids. So do many, many relatively low-education low-skilled Trump voters. They are sadly no less gullible than Democrats and "not Democrats," so they may swallow this line.

I'm not talking about the right or wrong of things. I'm saying that as a political strategy, MAGA politicians with dreams of grandeur for 2028 should not ignore these voters. Nor should the RNC if it wants to avoid losing seats in 2026.

This is why I say the Democrats should surrender the Medicaid issue to the Republicans, so millions of MAGAs will feel the pain when they lose their health care coverage.

That's the only way people will start to wake up to what a sham Trump and his party are.

The administration with the most billionaires in history is not looking out for them.

Their loss of Medicaid will be paying for the extension of the tax cuts for the rich.

It's nice to see MTG has caught on. But she probably wants both. Tax cuts for the rich and Medicaid for the poor, with the attendant massive increase in the debt.

So those Jewish space lasers have finally knocked some sense into MTG.

She recognizes the truth....that expiration of the Obamacare subsidies on December 31st will devastate millions of MAGA voters.

And this is why this government shutdown is a no-win situation for Trump and his imbecile Repug lackeys in Congress.

Her kids are under 26, are they not on her congressional insurance plan??

MTG's spawn are only covered by her health insurance after the age of 21 if they are in college full time or disabled.

Here she blams the Speaker and Leader Thune for the shutdown:

CNN claims a poll showing 47% of Americans blame Republicans for it and only 30% blame Democrats. That is so bizarrely counter-factualy that it can only be a product of biased reporting followed by biased polling.

But it is out there and CNN is not the only outlet saying it.

I'm not saying that the GOP should change its position. Continuing the COVID era subsidies to the insurance providers would be an unnecessary gift to the ultra-wealthy. But they need to do a better job of explaining. Maybe they need to come up with a compromise that pays for the healthcare of American citizens, but not illegals.

This "look on page 57 of the Democrat CR and then compare it to the part of the BBB that that page would repeal and blah, blah, blah," will put these uneducated Greene voters to sleep.

Uneducated whites were long a sure-fire Democratic demographic, which is why they were so angry at losing them. MAGA needs to keep them. They work hard, even though their English is almost as bad as CNN's (Note to CNN: It's "toe the line," not "tow the line."), and for that reason alone should not be switching to the Democratic Party.

You understand that Trump and the full of shit Repugs in Congress has never cared about poor people, correct? Is that finally dawning on you?

It looks like it might finally be dawning on MTG.

Why was the enhanced tax credit necessary if the ACA was so good in the first place?

So let's say the dems were to make this tax credit permanent...how long til the next "enchanced tax credit" will come along, and the dems will then be fighting to make THAT tax credit permanent.

The problem with government being involved with this at all is that IT is going to cause it to get more and more expensive.

Every time the government subsidizes health care, doctors make more profits...but healthcare never gets cheaper. When those doctors get Healthcare subsidies from the government, the prices go up for everyone else.

Here's the thing.

Health insurance has been going up and up and up for the past what, 60 years?

More and more millions are being priced out of the market. This is why we have Obamacare and why we have subsidies. Because the Republicans came up with NOTHING after fifty years, and still have come up with nothing 15 years on now.

Then, when Obamacare became law, the Republicans promised they would repeal and replace Obamacare. Then Trump came along and promised he would replace Obamacare "on Day One".

Of course, this was a massive hoax as Trump and the Republicans knew their little rubes would be too stupid to ask to see that replacement, and too submissive to hold them accountable when the lie was exposed.

Since we never got the promised TrumpCare, health care costs continued their skyrocketing, pricing many more millions out of the private market and forcing them onto the Obamacare exchanges.

The "Covid era subsidies" need to continue because, even as the pandemic has come and gone, that upward trajectory of costs continued unabated.

And that is why the "Covid era subsidies" need to continue until the lying ***** Trump and the Republicans make good on their promises.

You sound kinda nervous, kiddo...

15th post

I was under the impression that, like everyone else, their kids can be on their health plan until 26..

No?

Have you heard ANY of Trump's butchery of the English language? He's committing genocide against our native tongue.

So you are admitting that this is a nice feature of Obamacare. Excellent.
.did you see me make a comment on it being good or bad? I merely stated that I dont understand her saying her kids' Healthcare premiums will double...if her kids are on HER congressional insurance plan.

I'll answer this and then keep hoping some of my fellow MAGAs will weigh in on the point of the thread.

"Priced out of the market" is something that cannot happen in the free market. At least not to "more and more millions." A greedy company can charge what the market will bear, but if it charges so much more than the market will bear and lose millison and millions of customers, they go out of business.

Obamacare was nothing but a huge gift to them, forcing "everyone" to pay for "everyone" and at the same time giving THE COMPANIES (not the consumers) premiums subsidies.

How is giving the companies huge awards of cash from the government a subsidy of premiums?

Answer that, and I'll have a follow up.

Yes, Trumpcare was a dumb idea, that I'm glad they dropped.
