Obviously allowing illegals in an area where ice is not allowed is obstruction. It prevents ICE from doing their jobs, which is to remove those who are in this country illegally. From my understanding is that Sanctuary cities or towns or States if there is such, simply do not require proof of citizenship to live there...their dealings with the community do not ever involve with asking for papers...with exceptions for certain govt assistance... because much requires citizenship...non citizens are not eligible...and don't usually apply.

Basically, because they did not invite these people to enter in to the USA illegally at the border, because the towns and cities had no part of that,

and the towns do not know who really is an illegally or not, because that question is never asked by anyone, which gives deniability leeway,

And these sanctuary cities etc, then don't meet the criteria needed to be breaking this law mentioned, imo.

The law states just knowing they are there and if you attempt to harbor them, or entice them to come, which labeling yourself as a sanctuary city, and refusing to abide by immigration law, would certainly be considered in that vein, is a violation of the law.
