Yes it is. But if the investments are non controlling interests or insufficiently large to give the stockholder any significantly leverage, I do understand why the deal with Intel was made.

But it likely--no guarantee but likely--will provide revenue for the U.S. Treasury. And most importantly it wrested control of Intel from China and secured the microchip industry, extremely critical for America's national security, in American control.

We have a President who is a multi-billionaire, who takes no vacations or weekends off, who takes no government salary. I don't think bribery is a concern at this time. This was not a bribery thing. This was a deal. Intel would get necessary CHIPS funding to expand operations here courtesy of Biden administration legislation--one that Trump likes and has not made any effort to reverse--and the U.S. government would be hopefully reimbursed with investment revenue going into the U.S. Treasury. And U.S. microchips will be manufactured here instead of China.

Who do we want to have complete control over the microchip industry? China? Or American companies producing those products in America?

I don't know if it will work out. If it doesn't we'll know soon enough. But I give President Trump credit for thinking outside the box and being willing to go outside the status quo or the 'we've always done it that way' or the 'we've never done it that way' mentality to protect America and Americans and make things better.

If Biden was doing this, you would be screaming at him. The government should not be owning stakes in companies. That leads to crony capitalism. The government will take steps to favor one company over another.

Trump is setting records for taking time off to golf. He is cashing in on being president. He is actively soliciting bribes. He is the most dishonest president we have ever had. Why does Intel need to be owned by the government to participate in the CHIPS program?

You use China as your favorite boogeyman. Worth noting that most Republicans opposed the CHIPS legislation.

Trump's tariffs are hurting Americans. The number of plants closing have skyrocketed because of this.

President Trump works from early morning until late into the evening seven days a week. He does not take weekends off. He does not take vacations. He does not take a salary. If he plays a round of golf now and then to relieve the pressure, only the most hateful people would fault him for that.

As the economy is doing well, young people are investing at record rates I heard this morning--that's a first--and we have a President and Administration who are working to again give the people a strong, free, secure, prosperous for everybody and not just designated groups, We have an Administration that is working to restore a government that works for the people instead of professional politicians, special interests, and the bureaucracy.

Your people had their chance to do that. They didn't.

It's our turn and all your crocodile tears, hand wringing, and assigned talking points to hurt President Trump won't change that.
