It is just the nature of anything that acts like a filter. I have a Polaris to pick up leaves on the bottom of the pool. It is not a filter. It just designed to collect large things that fall in from the trees or blown by the wind. When I empty it. There is often smaller particles clinging to the insides of the mesh bag, as they are much smaller than the mesh. It is not a filter, but acts as a filter, and I am glad to have the additional particulate out of the system, whether it came through the actual pool filters or not.

Nasa scientists also wear surgical masks when working on spacecraft, like the Hubbell telescope. So they don't contaminate it.
