The same (hit the ground running) could have been said of either party - including the Dems - time and again, in recent decades. It's only been a few weeks.Oh, I dunno...I will say that is what Newt was able to do with Clinton.
Haven't seen it much since
Republicans have made Obama out to be the devil
Now, negotiating with the devil will upset the base. Republicans are like the dog chasing a car and once they catch it, they have no idea what to do with it
Inviting a foreign head of state of address the Congress, slapping Obumble in the process, and putting the brakes on His Imperial Majesty's latest Shamnesty for Illegal Aliens, does not strike most folks as 'bargaining with the Devil'.
But even if that proves to be the case after all... no big deal... although I understand why the handful of remaining Orgasmic ObamaBots would like the American People to believe that it's a big deal... I mean... after all... when you've had a 'shellacking' twice... losing the House in 2010 and losing the Senate in 2014... and when you have little left to you but to attempt Rule by Imperial Decree... well... whatever one can do, to try and put a positive spin on things...
May such ineffective brickbat-throwing be a consolation to loyal ObamaBots... it's about all they have left, at this late juncture.
Is showboating the best that Republicans can hope to accomplish in the two years they hold Congress?
They have an agenda that has been on the backburner for the last eight years. Now they have a chance to do what THEY want to do and the best they can brag about is....we stopped Obama?
Bunch of fools
Stopping Obama (with regard to Immigration, and with regard to our relationship with Israel) is a good start.
Stay tuned for further developments.
After waiting on the sidelines for six years, you would assume the Republicans would hit the ground running on legislation that is important to them
Instead we get votes on repealing Obamacare for the 57th time and confirming that there is global warming
No big deal.
ObamaCare is only a piece of the puzzle, as is Immigration, relations with Israel, the Iranian nuclear question, ISIS-ISIL-IS, the budget, and all the rest.
Nobody expected the Pubs do do it all overnight, just as nobody expected the Dems to do it all overnight, when it was their turn.
This hit-the-ground-running business seems to be little more than a whisper in the wind, and seems at-risk of being tainted by a case of sour grapes.
I think we can give the new Ruling Party a few more weeks, or a couple more months, before we start passing Early Judgment on their effectiveness.
But that's just me.
