She wasn't issuing licenses to ANYONE straight or mentally deranged couples. She was breaking no "law" because there is no "law" to violate. When Kentucky legislature decides what the law will be which more than likely will include protections of religious rights just like North Carolina and Alabama has done then licenses can be issued once again with everyone knowing the law.It did not throw anything into chaos. It clarified that no state can deny a couple a marriage license merely because the applicants are of the same gender. No state, including Kentucky, can issue licenses to straight couples but not to gay couples. Who knows why that is too complicated for you to comprehend?
And no county clerk can defy the Supreme Court ruling. Kim Davis found that out the hard way. It matters not if you agree with the ruling or not.
Those licenses are void since they edited an official government document illegally. She is STILL the elected official and has complete control over that area of government in Rowan county,Ky. Not her deputy not a thug in a robe.The law she was following was deemed unconstitutional. Observing that law despite its unconstitutionality was in clear violation of the rights of those to whom she refused to issue a marriage license.Don't care.Why does it matter? The SC can NOT make a new law therefore the law she was going by is gone and is replaced by NOTHING until January when the legislature meets.
But she knows this now as she changed her tune while in jail and has now acquiesced to allow her office to issue marriage licenses to gays; something she refused to allow before going to jail.
Judge is a thug in a robe who himself said he doesn't think the edited licenses are legit. So. Oh and marriage is NOT talked about ANYWHERE in the constitution so we can chop another one up to the sick left claiming it says what they want it to say and getting 5 retards to voice their opinion in favor of it like it truly matters.Don't care.

Kentucky legislature makes the laws because marriage of all kinds are a states rights issue not a federal issue. SC ruled with their OPINION that the law was wrong therefore there is no law now and we must wait until their is a law. Which is why in a smart nation we will have 1 party with 1 set of rules and no assholes in robes dictating if they think its right or not.Huckabee is clueless on the role of the Supreme Court and the supremacy clauseRightwinger is saying that the SC made a law that Kim Davis is breaking....they did not. The state of Kentucky did not abolish marriage. A county clerk does not get to unilaterally establish such an edict. That's why she went to jail; and rightfully so. As far as the licenses not being valid ... if they are not, they will be validated at some point in the future. As far as the word, "marriage," not being in the Constitution -- the words, "nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws," are.
