GOP could care less about jobs!

Barry had two years with a super majority and couldn't seem to get his act together.

Not true. Democrats had a super majority in numbers only. Blue Dogs kept it from being a functional super majority.

So what you're saying is that there was something wrong with obama's plan since he couldn't get all the democrats on board?

If the Obama was so worried about jobs, why DIDN'T HE CANCEL his vacation to WORK on his BIG PLAN? He could of got one of his lapdog media stations to give him air time to announce his BIG PLAN, he has never needed all of CONGRESS there before. this is all another ploy by him. If the Republicans DENY him more of the monies he's going to asking for, they will BE ABLE TO BLAME REPUBLICANS.

He already GAVE us one JOBS plan, THAT WAS called a STIMULIS.... IT ROBBED US OF billions of dollars and UNEMPLOYMENT got worse.

Nobody want's to hear MORE OF THE SAME, We all know what he is going to say....HE needS MORE MONEY for SHOVEL READY JOBS, but he PROMISES, this TIME IT WILL WORK, really.

So on the FIRST DAY that the Congress and Senate come back from vacation, the President wants to schedule a joint session to address them on his new proposed plan for creating jobs in America ASAP.

The President submits the formal request to the Majority Speaker of the House of Representatives....and about 4 hours later is told that ANOTHER time would be more convenient due to "security arrangement" matters and the like.

Since the early 1900's when President's started making actual visits to the House to address them, NO PRESIDENT'S REQUEST HAS EVER BEEN DENIED UNTIL NOW.

Interesting that the very political party that has been wailing for months that they are waiting for the President to present a plan for jobs in America SUDDENLY can't fit the President of the USA in for a quick address.

Now if one is to believe the GOP's favorite pundit Rush Limbaugh, Speaker Boehner rejected the initial request date in order to put Obama "in his place" and not let the President have the upper hand as taking a leadership position....especially since it would coincide with the first scheduled GOP Presidential candidacy debate.

This is just another example to the American people that the GOP is NOT about the general welfare of the people, but about the corporate welfare and secured economic greed of the wealthiest 1 to 3% of the population.

Once again, you are stating something that is, after all of the parsing and the slicing and the dicing of the words to make your point, accurate, but not true.

The province of the House of Representatives is not the president's Playground. This little stunt by the Big 0 will be an empty restatement of the Class Warfare as you preduct above. No plan, no solution, no thinking, and no new ideas.

Class warfare is a political trick to rouse the mob. This is the stock in trade that the Big 0 uses and abuses. You, too, for that matter.

The June 24, 1986, edition of The Wall Street Journal featured a story headlined, “President’s Bid to Address the House On Nicaragua Is Rejected by Speaker.” That’s right, no quibbling over the date and time, just a flat-out rejection. In that case, President Ronald Reagan wanted to address the House before its critical vote on funding for the anti-communist “Contra” rebels in Nicaragua. Then-Speaker Thomas “Tip” O’Neil said that he was willing to host a Reagan speech if it was expanded to include the Senate in a joint session, or he would allow the President to speak to the House alone if the President would also agree to take questions from lawmakers. Otherwise, there would be no Reagan speech in the House chamber. Reagan already had the votes to prevail in the Senate, and Mr. O’Neil wanted to avoid having the spotlight turned on the House, which would make him and his colleagues accountable to the public if Contra aid were rejected.
Both Speaker O’Neil then and Speaker Boehner this week were on very solid Constitutional ground. The president has no more right to take over the proceedings in the House, or to invite himself in, than does the speaker have the right to commandeer the president’s time and attention within the White House.

Of course. The conservative GOP representatives have never been about the people. Rather, it's all about the greed. Always has been. On another matter, I've always found it interesting that so-called devout Christians keep backing the greed mongering right-wing republicans, rather than candidates that are totally in favor of the poor and down-trodden. Clearly, they're not real Christians. Jesus would be ashamed of them, of that we can be assured. One thing certain, when their time comes, it's not upward they'll be going.

The vile are ever prone to detect the faults of others, though they be as small as mustard seeds, and persistently shut their eyes against their own, though they be as large as Vilva fruit.

1.Hinduism. Garuda Purana 112

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment that you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

With respect to jobs, what grabs my attention are numbers. Right now, the numbers are big in oil and natural gas.

As regards taxes and regulations for these particular industries, you tell me who's holding up progress- Democrats or Republicans.

With hysteria and propaganda.

MATTHEW....Personally, I'm a Centrist. I believe in elements of both sides. Just not extremes of either.
However, socialism isn't a step toward communism. Most of the European nations are socialist, yet the public is free to vote for whom they please. They can also own property and become rich. It's just that because their governments are socialist in nature, the public has a safety-net, should they need it. I see nothing wrong with ensuring that your people are taken care of. Afterall, they've supported their governments all their lives. Once elderly or unable to do, it is only fair that their government support them.
For the US, I believe in social security and medicare. If you've worked all your life supporting the capitalist system, I don't think it's asking too much for the government to return the favor when you are unable to do so, or having difficulty taking care of yourself. All people in their nation, should have access to health care, nutritious food and a clean, comfortable place to sleep. To not believe so, is to be less than human.

Having access to and being given stuff are two entirely different things.

In the USA, we have access to almost everything. In less Capitalistic socieities, that access is far more limited.

You need to check you definitions.

I have access to much. Whether I choose to exercise that access is my decision. I may decide that i would like to have a meal or a car or a house or a healthcare insurance plan. If that is my choice, and it has been, then I will spend a significant amount of time and energy to gather the means to acquire those things.

If I choose to not expend that time and energy, I have also chosen to not acquire them.

Choosing to not acquire something and not having access to it are two entirely differnt things.

You are saying that you have a right to have me buy you stuff that you don't want to work to acquire. I disagree.

Please support your position.

Come on tai/chi you know why Barry scheduled his speech on a particular day. It was a dirty trick that democrats used to get away with back in the days when there was no fair and balanced media and Cronkite was king. Times have changed but democrats seem stuck in the 60's. Anyway it ain't about jobs. Barry had two years with a super majority and couldn't seem to get his act together. Democrats have had a majority in congress for four years including the collapse of Fannie Mae but all they do is whine about the 7 month old 112 Congress. Think about this while you are meditating during your tai/chi class. Government jobs to not grow the economy. They only transfer confiscated taxpayer money from one segment of society to another. The private sector generates money and recently it seems that democrats have become hostile to the concept

On the contrary: Obama did everything he wanted to do and none of that was to help the economy, create jobs or to help thse he claims to care about.

This guys is a lying party hack who has only his own agenda and not one ounce of integrity, honesty, empathy or concern for others.

Not true? Does your truth do work with free weights after all that stretching?

Does anyone really think that this country will be awash in good paying jobs once Barry finishes reading off the teleprompter?
What is the likelihood of his saying anythng that he hasn't said before that will lead to job creation?
The only think he can say that would spur the economy is:
"I've really screwed up here. I resign. I am sorry, America."

Krauthammer: “Obama Is ‘President Zero’ – Zero Economic Expansion, Zero Jobs, Zero Ideas” (Video)
Posted by Jim Hoft on Sunday, September 4, 2011, 12:51 AM

After the dismal jobs report Charles Krauthammer told the FOX News All Stars on Friday night, “Obama Is President Zero – zero economic expansion, zero jobs, zero ideas on how to cure the economy.”

Krauthammer went on to say the president’s speech on Thursday is a campaign speech.
“He doesn’t understand that his administration has stopped the economy in its tracks.”

You may not have noticed but Europe is collapsing because of it's 'Socialism Lite' ideology. And - because of its ridiculous controlling attitudes towards their citizens - the far right parties are on the rise. Last time that happened, the outcome was not good. For anyone.

Also, that crap about 'all people in their nation' (FYI: Europe is not one nation) having 'access to health care, nutritious food and a clean, comfortable place to sleep'.... that is total, utter, fucking bullshit.

That European utopia that you think exists - it doesn't. Their problems are as bad - actually worse - than ours. Idiot.

You see that, that's the world's tiniest violin playing....

The president was trying to pull a cheap stunt, you know, like a community organizer showing up at a groundbreaking and asking "Where's the jobs for da community". He knew the GOP Debate was going to be that night, and he wanted to upstage 9 guys getting on the stage pointing out how badly he's failed on this issue.

There was no real reason why he needed to have it on THAT day other than he wanted in on that day so he could upstage the other guy's message. Instead, he made himself look weak and petty.

Obama and Dems think unemployment stimulates the economy and conveniences like bank ATMS and airport kiosks hurt the economy, who would even want to listen to these idiots? Just STFU until you're all booted out in Nov 2012

It's thinking like this that has this country so screwed up.
Only Socialists need apply to the Democratic party. No other voices needed.
Blue Dogs knew that we can't afford the New Health Care Bill and that it destroys medical care for our Seniors.
Your hated for Conservatives is showing.

Does anyone really think that presidential speeches have never conflicted with something else before? They must have. I suspect the business was handled outside of the public eye.

Our leaders are all employed and well taken care of.

They're about the only people left in the USA whose jobs are not easily shipped off shore or cut due to government roll-backs.

Small wonder the whole issue of jobs isn't big on their agenda.

But you're not greedy, of course, when you expect to have a piece of the wealth owned by the top 1 to 3% of the population even though you didn't lift a finger to earn it, right? :eusa_whistle:
