In a Republic, actually
"House Speaker Mike Johnson’s government funding plan is already crumbling with enough Republicans opposed to the resolution to sink it, and more warning the speaker will have to abandon his initial proposal to keep the government open.

At least six House Republicans have said they are against Johnson’s plan to attach a controversial bill to bar noncitizens from voting in US elections to a six-month government funding resolution, enough GOP opposition to block Johnson’s proposal given the party’s narrow margin in the House and that the proposal lacks support from Democrats.

GOP Reps. Greg Steube of Florida, Cory Mills of Florida, Jim Banks of Indiana, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Matt Rosendale of Montana have all come out against the plan – known as a continuing resolution, or CR – that is scheduled to be voted on Wednesday."

Republicans are incapable of sound, responsible governance; Republicans have contempt for sound, responsible governance.

Federal law already prohibits noncitizens from voting; Johnson wants to shutdown the government for no valid reason – even a few Republicans recognize this fact.

It's the end of the world I tell ya!!!

God help us all if government ever shuts down!!!!

We will all be dying in the streets................unless you have an AR 15, but I think that is only common sense.

You seem awfully calm about this. How on earth can we all survive without the Swamp?

Sure, there were people before governments ever came to be, but look at them, they are all dead now.

Coincidence?
I hope they do shut the government down...

If there's already a law preventing noncitizens from voting how can Johnson's plan be controversial?

And just for sheer shits and giggles, it seems Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky says his support P01135809 is "Flagging".

☝️ TRANSLATION: Republicans actually think and work independently and not all in lock-step union like the cult of sheeple democrats.

Federal law already prohibits noncitizens from voting
Which the democrats will promptly get around by simply having them meet the minimum requirements for getting a voter ID or will just make them citizens, calling it xenophobia by the republicans for their resisting to do so.

Johnson needs to extend the CR past April 30th to trigger an automatic 1% cut, that will pass easily.

Johnson may lose his job if he lets the democrats sink the Save Act.

Mike Johnson is a complete and total PRO ISRAEL RINO disaster...
