We have no idea what will happen but we do know we got backed into this corner via a death estimate of 1.7-2.2 million and for some unfathomable reason cant get out.

Most of these estimates carry qualifications. As I remember the 2.2 million was based on an assumption that the world does nothing to control the virus and herd immunity does not occur for several years.
