Jesus taught about being "spiritually righteous".

Matthew 5: "20 I tell you, if your righteousness does not exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

He also taught the Beatitudes.

Godly people who die while remaining unaware of Jesus will, I believe, be greeted by Jesus after death. They will immediately follow Jesus and go to Heaven.
