One thing that annoys me to no end is when people continually quote those "in authority". Possibly this does stem back to the nuns always using bible quotes or teaching what Paul said over and over, or my elder siblings talking about what Thomas Aquinas said, or waxing poetic about Constantine (a murderous maniac). But I think most of all it was their holding up the bible as the authority on how to live your life and insisting God inspired it, when that was just some belief with zero evidence and yet held up as the authority on all of life.
