I worked graveyard shift for four years in my late 20s. Hated it. LOL, it made swing shift seem like heaven. Thirteen years on dark shift sure makes you appreciate working on days.

I'm still stuck on night shift hours a full year into retirement.

My body didn't know what to do. I foiled the windows. Tried drinking myself to sleep and started taking otc sleep aids. Nothing worked--and, as you say, trying to switch over to days for the weekend to spend time with the family was insanity. I used to get so damn jealous of the wife as she got ready for bed as I was heading off to work.
