I mean as long as he stays honest and backs up his claims with facts then he will not fall. The American people want the truth no matter how ugly it is. With the exception of the left, they don't want truth unless it advances their agenda and I see little proof of that happening. The domocratic congress wnat to pass the healthcare reform and they don't care theat the majority of the people don't want it. They are willing to disrupt over 250 million lives to try to help 30 million. It just doesn't make sense.

In all fairness I know a lot of people that have been addicted to drugs who now lead a very productive and stable life. Unless you can show he's still struggling with an addiction then you're being a little disingenuous in your characterization. IMO.

Beck calls himself a "recovering" alcoholic...he hasn't drank in (i think) about 10 years. But he says once and alcoholic, always a alcoholic - so it's something he's always aware of. Never heard he took drugs...but who doesn't anymore? Who has NEVER taken prescriptions drugs...or smoked pot? Big deal! doesn't mean he's addicted to any of it. I think you're just trying to come up with a reason to not like him...hard to do huh? I never miss his show, it's the only way to really find out what's going on!

The issue is bigger than Beck. The issue is the hijacking of the Republican Party by the far right. Their attempts to ideologically purify the party by purges and smears will result in the marginalization of that party.

The same thing the righties warned Democrats of less than four years ago is actually happening in the GOP. When the Right Wing gets finished with this purge, the only Republicans left will be largely intolerable to the electorate at large. War mongering, fear mongering social Conservatives will leave the GOP a party appealing only to angry white bigots with little or no chance at wielding actual power.

Beck is just a conduit to these ends. Limbaugh was where Beck is now in 1994. What's the difference? In 1994 the Republicans offered the Contract with America. Today, the Republicans offer little other than "NO!". Beck feeds the conspiracists, the useful idiots and the ill-informed.

What's funny about this is that it's nuts and extreme to ask questions. The President tells us to look to who he surrounds himself. Glenn does that. He shows how everyone is connected. And he is suddenly a conspiracy nut for doing what the President told us to do. He tells people about who the President surounds himself and thats somehow extreme. he asks questions and that's somehow bad.
