No, it has not. It reached a peak on interglacial warming about 8000 years ago, and has been slowly cooling ever since. Until we loaded the atmosphere with GHGs, and now it is warmer than it was at that peak.

Interesting, with the California fires, there is one that in the first two weeks of this month burned over 84 square miles in the Custer State Park in South Dakota. While the fire was primarily a ground fire, a fire that big in December in South Dakota is not exactly the usual thing. Plus, that Park is quite high, much of it above 5000 ft.

It's not a lie.. Graph it out. The YEAR of the biggest El Nino in the later 1/2 of the 20th century only has one maybe two months with any appreciable anomaly (year to year) over 0.3degC.. Can't you read? Obviously not. Because FYI the last six entries in any one line don't count as monthlies. They are biannual or quarterlies and just repetitions of the monthly entries.

Back 10 years ago -- I can show you GISS plots that showed the event nearly 50% higher.. It's been wiped. Like a server. With a cloth.. And although the sat data was always higher for El Ninos (and more representative of the actual ATMOS temps), there was closer agreement 10 years ago..
