That is what Joe Biden demanded of the Israelis, Hamas and representatives of Qatar and Egypt who are trying to broker a cease-fire agreement. As though he were the party in interest. The Telegraph interprets Biden’s motives:

Mr Biden is under major pressure from voters over the US alliance with Israel, and the president was punished at the ballot box by protesting young Democrats in the primaries last week.​

So what would a proposed deal look like?


Commentary:
Th author John Hinderaker summed up the proposed 'deal' with these sentences:

A. "Why 40 hostages? Why not all of them? Why should Israel even discuss a proposal that does not include a total release of kidnap victims? And how about a Hamas surrender? Normally, when a country starts a war and then loses it, if it wants the fighting to stop it has to surrender. It is bizarre that some people take seriously the idea that Hamas should survive the war it foolishly started."​

B. "My guess is that Gaza doesn’t want to provide a list of living kidnap victims because a shocking number have been murdered.< In any event, Israel shouldn’t allow Hamas’s transparent diplomatic maneuvering, or hysterical reactions from the Biden administration, to distract It from the total victory it needs to achieve over Gaza.​

Holding hostages is a war crime and they all need to be released. But at this point there is doubt that any are alive. They need to be released at once, unconditionally!
What is necessary is for Hamas to surrender unconditionally to Israeli demands. There is no negotiating.
There was a cease fire in place on October 7th. Why should Israel trust Hamas now? Biden and the Democrats are not friends to Israel.
It was Hamas that attacked Israel in a brutal massacre and the kidnaping of more than 1,000 men women and children, including foreign tourists.
It appears that the only deal our president and his flunky Blinken seem to be capable of negotiating is chocolate chip versus cookie dough.

It's true that Hezbollah is threatening Israel, but only threatening. They are not really willing to fully attack Israel.
The Houthis' have not threatened Isreal but they are threatening international shipping in the Red Sea. Their aims are to destabilize the area.

Only Arabs and Palestinians have accepted and followed the precepts of Nazism. Guess you forgot that the Grand Mufti Jerusalem was an ally of Hitler and even volunteered a division to the SS during WW II.
BTW, Egypt is also very beholden to the US for money. Both militarily and economic aid. And Egypt could in theory open its border crossings today and let the people of Gaza - the good and the evil - just come across the line. Where the US could deliver food and other material support in some fashion other than the token airdrops.
Has anyone found it interesting that the nations around Israel such as Egypt, Jordan and Lebabon and are NOT coming to the aid of the gazans so quickly..... You have to wonder why that is..
That they do not is likely testimony to how little motivation Egypt, the countries mentioned and the entire M.E. care little about Hamas. Displaced Palestinian refugees have brought instability everywhere they end up. Biden can use promises and or threats against Egypt. Israel won't listen to either until they perceive their best interests have been served. Qatar....as with any situation with incomprehensible sums of money it is not as easy to see the carrots and sticks.
