Since the border issues began in the US people constantly were trying to warn others this is going to happen in America still we have those groups who refuse to believe this can ever happen in the US. But, it will probably have to actually take place here before others wake up and realize oh this is what they meant.

The Selective Service system remains partially active but has not been used to induct anyone since 1973.

I was not aware that punishment was being administered for not registering. So thanks for the info. I'll research it.
