That's not true. The withholding changes reflect the Making Work Pay tax credit.

not at all, not at all, this was a demerol-campaign, designed not to hurt anyone, extremely boring.
but even then they managed to make grand promises (this is your obama angle) they could not keep.
btw, socialism is not dead, it just stinks a little, and is divided into at least 3 factions, conservatism is more like a monolithic block of old assholes, hahaha, ok there are some young assholes too. the winner were the biggest ass clowns, you would maybe call them classic liberals, the FDP. they will be the junior partner of the conservative CDU, and will be cannibalized like every junior partner in a coalition, bon appetit.

and besides, most of the political parties in Germany are to the left of the DNC here
I doubt that, the right part of the SPD and CDU can propably be seen as (left) DNC, but the greens and the left definitly dont.
I dont have a good idea where to put the FDP in the US spectrum propably Neocons, their civil rights election promises will all be thrown out anyway.
Oh yeah, the only remotly interesting thing in the campaign was the pirate party (2% on the first try yay! Next time we have money!).

Anyone have any thoughts? Looks like the outcome will probably be another grand coalition.

You can say that the greens have been anarchic / basically democratic in the beginning, early 80ties. But they have changed and during the time of their government within the SPD/Greens-Coalition they have shown their tru face: redistribution from bottom to top, crudest cutback of social state, supporting of crudest cutback of civil rights (Minister of Interior at that time, Otto Schily, SPD, was nothing better than Ronald Reagan had been, and the Greens did everything he wanted!).
Witrh the exception of the Left all parties in FRG are neoliberal, You seem to say Neocon, and all those parties have proved that they are prepared to treat civil ruights badly what is a condition for unlimited redistribution from bottom to the top: Growing pauperism next to growing richdom produces the danger of rebellions or a revolution so You need more and more dictatorship.

So, who is in L.K.? Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU)
And a coalition with who?
OK, fess up, who among you who are not familiar with German politics are shocked to find that one (or two depending on how you count) and the largest ones are Christian based and profess a "Christian understanding of humans and their responsibility toward God."
Come on, who's picking themselves up off the floor?
