I'm sorry it the majority of the information is to read only in Hungarian. There is a veteran of the Hungarian-language newspaper in the US. I do not like this newspaper, because it is very extreme, but the leftmost.

The history:
"Tihamér Kohányi was born in 1863 in Saros, Hungary. He became an outstanding figure in the establishment of several major Hungarian-American institutions, among them the newspaper Szabadság, which became the largest Hungarian daily in the United States, and the American Hungarian Federation."

The 1907 Kohányi (Appeal)

“We, America’s 1 million Hungarians, do not just demand, but will work to ensure that the people of Hungary may partake in the same freedom, the same justice, the same prosperity as we, citizens of America, partake.”
- Kohanyi Tihamer, AHF President, 1907

"Although the Hungarians in Cleveland had barely started building their community churches, organizations and businesses, already a strong need was felt for a Hungarian-language newspaper. Tihamer Kohányi met that challenge and founded the Szabadság (Liberty), which was first printed on November 12, 1891. This date marks the establishment of the oldest Hungarian-language newspaper in the United States." The newspaper today:
Rólunk

The now living Kohányi company laid a wreath at the Washington statue in Hungary. There is video, but only in Hungarian. (in 2006)

"...Top Hungarian leaders, U.S. Embassy officials and members of the Hungarian public celebrated the 100th anniversary of the unveiling of the George Washington statue in Városliget (City Park) on September 16, 2006. In addition to commemorating the great leader of the War of Independence and first President of the United States, participants also celebrated the talent and contributions of Hungarian immigrants, who raised the funds to set up Washington's statue in Budapest, and the '56 freedom fighters who, like Washington, fought for democratic values and personal liberties. .."
