History will record the Cowardly Bombings of Gaza as a "Crime against Humanity," and will inspire writers and artists for generations to document the similarities of Gaza to Guernica...

This following passage from a correspondent from Guernica could be describing Gaza with the same exact words...

The Bombing of Guernica, 1937

"...collecting charred bodies that the flames had passed over. Some of the soldiers were sobbing like children. There were flames and-smoke and grit, and the smell of burning human flesh was nauseating. Houses were collapsing into the inferno.

In the Plaza, surrounded almost by a wall of fire, were about a hundred refugees. They were wailing and weeping and rocking to and fro. One middle-aged man spoke English. He told me: 'At four, before the-market closed, many aeroplanes came. They dropped bombs. Some came low and shot bullets into the streets. Father Aroriategui was wonderful. He prayed with the people in the Plaza while the bombs fell.'..

Simple question: Why won't Hamas accept a cease-fire, besides violating other cease-fires that Israel has already accepted?

Ignorance is bliss. Amusing how you have American flags as your avatar and denounce Israel for its Gaza operation claiming how history will condemn them for it while not condemning your own side whose flag is drenched with blood for its own own sins in WWII.

225,000 dead is considered a very conservative estimate for how many civilians were killed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki by US forces.

At least with conventional bombing the case can be made civilian casualties are unavoidable. But deliberately using two atomic weapons knowing full well civilians would be the majority of the casualties somehow goes uncommented on by you.

You're either a hypocrite, or an ignorant fool.

Gaza City (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) - At least 17 people were killed in an Israeli strike on a packed Gaza market Wednesday in a deadly raid that came as Israel was observing a four-hour humanitarian lull.

Thick black smoke billowed over the site in the war-torn Shejaiya neighbourhood as at least five ambulances raced to the scene where bodies lay strewn on the ground, an AFP correspondent said.

A bloodied, limp lifeless body lay in a pool of petrol and mud, his head crushed, one of at least 17 people who were killed. At least another 200 were wounded, medics said.

It was supposed to have been a rare pause for Gaza's battered population of 1.8 million to go out in safety to stock up on goods, and for medics to evacuate the dead and wounded.

Your perfectly readable English is not an excuse for you to force on us an English contest, which also won't change the fact Rosie is still right pointing out who the real coward is.

The demonstrations were cut short when Hamas unilaterally ended a humanitarian truce with Israel and resumed rocket-fire from Gaza.

Ha that's a good laugh
I've happen to go nearby a protest of pro-Palestinians during 'Smoke Pillar' in Jerusalem near the Hebrew University, I think it was the first time Hamas fired rockets to Jerusalem, you should've seen them pushing everyone to get inside the university..valuing their own life, 3 injured by the crowd panic..

Do you think any military force appreciates their position identified. Sheesh, since they ended the draft we have some people that really haven't a clue about combat. Israeli positions would do the same thing if they were filmed in a combat situation by the press.

Zionism and Its Discontents

Zionism and Israel’s War with Hamas in Gaza

JULY 29, 2014

Roger Cohen

My great-grandfather’s brother, Michael Adler,

The Israeli case for the bombardment of Gaza could be foolproof. If Benjamin Netanyahu had made a good-faith effort to find common cause with Palestinian moderates for peace and been rebuffed, it would be. He has not. Hamas is vile. I would happily see it destroyed. But Hamas is also the product of a situation that Israel has reinforced rather than sought to resolve.

This corrosive Israeli exercise in the control of another people, breeding the contempt of the powerful for the oppressed, is a betrayal of the Zionism in which I still believe

If the Jews/Israelis controlled the media, then why do we see the images of dead Palestinian children? They would be suppressed.

I would not use the word control, but rather influence. I suspect he is speaking of the American mainstream media. Many European, African, Latin American and Asia main stream media organizations are relatively free from this influence. But how many Americans read/watch foreign media?

John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt · The Israel Lobby: the Israel Lobby · LRB 23 March 2006

The Lobby doesn’t want an open debate, of course, because that might lead Americans to question the level of support they provide. Accordingly, pro-Israel organisations work hard to influence the institutions that do most to shape popular opinion.

The Lobby’s perspective prevails in the mainstream media: the debate among Middle East pundits, the journalist Eric Alterman writes, is ‘dominated by people who cannot imagine criticising Israel’. He lists 61 ‘columnists and commentators who can be counted on to support Israel reflexively and without qualification’. Conversely, he found just five pundits who consistently criticise Israeli actions or endorse Arab positions. Newspapers occasionally publish guest op-eds challenging Israeli policy, but the balance of opinion clearly favours the other side. It is hard to imagine any mainstream media outlet in the United States publishing a piece like this one.
