Gas Stove vs Electric Stove

Electric stove users who think that keeps them safe from gas explosions have their heads shoved so far up their tight little asses that they can't see daylight. How is your house heated? Wood fire? Coal? Oil? Electric? GAS?????

Even if you don't have any gas heating or appliances if you're in an American home anywhere there is piped natural gas available odds are near 95% that when your home was built there was a gas connection built in. Somewhere in the building there is a pipe with a shutoff and, if the builder wasn't cutting corners there's also a very secure cap on the end of the pipe. If your panties are all in a wad over it then spend some of your welfare check on a plumber to look the whole place over, determine whether you do or don't have a gas pipe. If you do it should have never have been turned on (typically near the street) but who knows??? Paranoia, after all, knows no bounds!

It usually depends...
Some neighborhoods were built without Nat gas pipeline. Some local Electric Companies were giving kickbacks to contractors who didn't install neighborhood gas lines. Then the local gas companies got wind and did the same. Then they both got wiser and cut out all subsidies.

Beazer, Dr Horton, CCS and other large contractors take whatever legal bribes/incentives are handy.

this is from the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)

How common are natural gas explosions?

Across the U.S. there are about 286 serious natural gas explosions per year—the type that cause over $50,000 worth of damage, severe injury, or loss of life. Between 1998 and 2017, 15 people per year on average died in incidents related to gas distribution in the U.S.......it also said much of this was from old worn lines to old structures or faulty home appliances.....the newer houses and buildings and those being built should be pretty safe.......
How many of those originate within a home? How many were industrial ?

This guy says that a houses explodes from natural gas mishaps on a weekly basis.

Here's a quote from the NFPA...

An estimated average of 4,200 home structure fires per year started with the ignition of natural gas. These fires caused an average of 40 deaths per year. ... In the U.S., local fire departments respond to an average of 340 natural gas or LP-Gas leaks per day with no ignition.

could you post links to some of those many homes you saw explode??

and dont post links to ones youve read about but to those as you said youve seen,,
i do not have any links to those. most of the reports of gas exposions, i saw on the national news in the middle of the night on ABC World News Now, CBS Overnight News, and CNN.

i have never had a problem with gas cars or gas lawnmowers but that does not mean there are no problems with them.
has your house ever blown up from a gas explosion??

you can find problems with all sources of energy like what youre describing,,

These days to ensure being able to cook food one needs:

1. Electric Stove
2. Piped natural gas stove
3. Propane camp stove
4. "White gas" pump type camp stove
5. Cast Iron wood or coal fired stove.

And don't forget to stock plenty of coal, white gas, propane and matches.

And for those who feel that's not enough, an exercise bike with a generator and a microwave oven.
