There is a big difference between peaceful protesters and gangs. The white gangs seem to think that branding themselves as "militias" will get them off the hook. The State of New Mexico has even had to sue some group of thugs that call themselves "The New Mexico Civil Guard" in an effort to fool people into thinking that they are legitimate LEOs, after several were arrested on various occasions for various criminal activities.
