Game of the year so far. Cowboys v 49ers. What's your prediction?

Just looking at some of the follow up social media.

Dak has lost a lot of support.

Not sure when they play Philly. But if he stinks that one up, he'll be gone.

It really is time to call a klunker and klunker and move on.

McCaffrey is my boy. i want his biceps. i want his feet. i want him all!

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says that his matchup will represent a barometer to see where his club stands after Week 5.

“They are, right now, probably the most likely team to go win the Super Bowl, but in order for them to get there, they have to go by us, hopefully two times if that’s the way it falls in the playoffs and we’re in the playoffs, of course,” Jones said Tuesday during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “But the bottom line is you’re playing the best, you don’t need the game to tell you you’re playing the best, but you need the game to show you how you stack up against the best.”

*********************

Well Jerry.....

You showed you suck.

As much as I criticize Dak, I have this feeling he's not going to screw it up this time and Dallas wins 27-25. What say you?
Big let down huh? As sad as you are, is as happy as I am. Being America's team means everyone in America loves or hates the Cowboys. Either way, we care, which is good for the NFL and Dallas. I watch Dallas games when they are on TV. Fuck Dallas. I'm one of those fans who loves to hate them. Jerry Jones. Of course I hate that guy. JR Ewing looking mother fucker. And you just know he considers those players his young bucks. In his mind it's slavery and he owns those players. Treats them that way. Sure he pays them a lot but he makes so much more than they do.

Anyways, loved to see Dallas get spanked. Question now is are you dumb enough to give Dak an extension or cut bait and trade him? I say trade him. He's a good backup QB at best. Or better than someone out there that another team might improve with him. Just not win a superbowl.

Dallas is built to win a Superbowl. Only one thing missing. A good QB.

The delusion is real! Who would pt. out politics today as Republicans have shot themselves in the fk'n head yet again? It taints us all no matter the party! They've dismissed McCarthy as Speaker of the House last wk. & have no clue who to back in the future! Any smart person would walk away like Ryan way back when, but the IQ of Repulbican leadership exponentially dropped years ago! Any new Speaker's subject to the same treatment as a few demented MAGA-Trump-sters cripple gov't! They have the comperable intellect of a gila monster! Wasn't Goetz about to be indicted for traffiking in teenage girls just a few yrs. ago? WTF? Republicans are about the sickest POS in the history of democratic politics! Compromise is a dirty word in their world so nothing ever gets done! It's our own fault allowing them to rewrite history for the "gullible right" as the Nat'l Debt has gotten out of control under their leadership time & time again! Their lame accounting act about being fiscal is nauseating, but not 1/2 as much as their supporters! :omg: :nono::heehee::dunno:
Why is this in this thread again?

They’re on tract to have the number one scoring season of all time. I don’t care whom they’re playing that’s impressive
That's great. But they are doing it against really shitty teams. Something they wont face once they get into the PO's. The only PO team they've faced they got run off the field so while the sample size is small it's the only one we have. I'll wait until I see how they do against the Eagles and Chiefs. Them running the score up on the Bronco and next week against the hapless Panthers just isnt impressive.

It’s always satisfying when we beat the Cowboys.

Purdy has gradually gotten more national attention. The guy can play. Period.
Brock Purdy is very good. He also has a shit ton of weapons around him and a genius coach. Jimmy G looked good in this offense. Jimmy G has a bozo gene that comes out every now and again and he makes huge mistakes. Purdy doesnt do that.

I agree. Jimmy G had his moments and had a lot of success with this team but it was still VERY apparent that he was the weak point holding us back. We have only gotten better with Brock Purdy.

I was as skeptical as anyone. I figured there had to be a flaw in his game that someone would expose. It hasn’t happened. He‘s the real deal.

I don’t know how it still happens but it’s clear to me scouts were flat-out wrong again. When evaluating quarterbacks, they’re far too impressed with physical traits while ignoring what matters most - what they have between their ears.

Football pundits doing a post mortem on Dallas have discovered just how awful their offensive play calling is, and how their defensive schemes were easily shredded by San Francisco. Even with comparable talent (which they don't have against S.F.) Dallas will be outschemed on both sides of the ball.

I'm not sad, I'm surprised at what a beat down it was! Like I said I'm an old Redskins fan so I have no love for the Cowboys, I just thought the teams were close to the same level. The 49ers looked like the 85 Bears and the Cowboys looked like the Bad News Bears. I guess it's fair to say Dak didn't lose the game, they were beat in every phase of the game. Dak threw 3 ints, but the game was already over at that point.

The way the Lions play, I think they can hang with the 49rs. Still gun to head, even I would put my money on San Francisco. They look unbeatable. I would be okay with lions losing to them in the championship game. The final 4. I asked if we might meet up with San Fran until the Superbowl someone said we would play them before that.

The QB is the leader of the team. The QB either completes his passes and keeps the drive going or he makes the day very difficult for his defense. I get what you are saying but I bet you the Cowboys realize Dak is not the one. He just isn't. He's like Tony Romo. He's okay. He's just not going to put you over the top.

I bet Brady would win if he played one year for Dallas.

The flaw in his game is that unless you have this type of talent around him he's not winning you games. He's not going to take the WR/RB corps Mahomes had last year and win a SB. But for this system he's perfect, so long as he doesnt want Mahomes money at the end of this contract.

The scouts didnt get it wrong. Purdy is great for this system but if you pick him up and put him in San Diego or KC he's lost. He doesnt have the physical tools. If SF ever needs Purdy to go out and win them a game they are going to lose. Full stop.

Where you land has a huge impact on your career. If Tom Brady were drafted by the Browns he's likely not considered the GOAT. He may not have ever won a SB.

I disagree. The system is a factor but the bigger factor is the talent of the player.

Tom Brady won Super Bowls with two different teams, not because they were the two best systems, but because he’s Tom Fucking Brady.

If you actually watch Brock Purdy, I don’t know how you can argue that he would be lost in KC or San Diego (you mean L.A btw). He goes through his reads, he’s accurate with the ball, and he’s able to carve out whatever the defenses give him. Brock Purdy can play ball and the scouts were wrong.

So many careers have been curtailed, derailed, or totally lost being chosen by the wrong team! Montana wouldn't have been The GOAT for as long as he was if not for a system called "The West Coast offense!" Then there are the QB's gifted w/ so much talent around them, they get no props; Bradshaw, McMahon, & Aikman OTTH! As great as Mahomes is supposed to be, he's not putting up "the numbers" due to losing key players! The only anomoly I can't understand is Dallas! Almost 30 years of futility over egos & firing 1 of the best Football coaches of all time IMO; just insane! No one assessed talent like Johnson and "The Boys" would have swept the SB's of the 90 w/ all their talent if not for Jones! I've been no fan of Dallas and have enjoyed their struggles since the days of Switzer! Self sabotage has kept many a team from winning anything! :nono::heehee::dunno:

Because he's not nearly as talented as Mahomes or Herbert. He's just not. He has a MVP candidate RB in McCaffery, Deebo, and Aiyuk and Kittle and an elite defense. And and and. Outside of Kelce who does Mahomes have? Purdy is a good QB but he’s not a put a team on his back and win them a SB type guy. So long as he doesnt make mistakes and SF doesn’t need him to win them a game they will be ok.

I didn’t say he’s as talented as Mahomes or Herbert. YOU said he would be “lost” playing for one of those teams. I don’t think he would be lost at all. I think he can play wherever you put him.

What makes you think he can’t put a team on his back and win? For that matter, who do you think CAN do that? Herbert? Hurts? Cousins? Dak?

Spell out your criteria for that because I want to know what specifically causes you to think that. This guy has only won every single game he has played, leads the league in passer rating and QBR, has the second highest yards per attempt last time I checked, and has simply done everything that he has been asked to do. What makes you think he’s a second tier guy as far as leading a team to victory? Explain that please. Who exactly can put a team on their back and why can’t Purdy?

I didn't realize how freaking good SF is at every phase of the game. I'm not a fan of either team but Dallas is solid, they just got steam rolled by a phenomenal all around effort. That being said, I agree with you that Purdy would succeed on any team with a good O line because he is really smart and always seems to make the right split second decisions. His arm is strong enough and very accurate. The game isn't about 70 yard bombs it's about hitting receivers in small windows and nobody is better than Purdy at that.
