• 21,000 dead Gazans (reportedly) is unconscionable and cannot be justified or condoned.
• But what happened to Israel on October 7th is also unconscionable and cannot be justified.

Both were/are horrors.

Which leads me to last Sunday's (12/31st) lead story in the New York Times. If you haven't read it.....well, friends, you must.

It is a horror story. For everybody, sure. But most specifically for those poor poor young Israeli women kidnapped at the festival or out of a kibbutz or even captured female soldiers.

Read it...and one can get an inkling of the outrage Israeli's must hold viscerally against Hamas and anyone who would harbor them.

In that story, which will have most everybody wincing....you will read of young women being gang raped while at the same time their breasts are being sawed off for the assembled rapists to then play catch with. This was witnessed several times by hidden survivors. You will read of female soldiers captured and then shot in their pudendum...intentionally in their pudendum.

One will read that long article and come to believe the attackers not only hated Jews.....but they hate women.

There is speculation you will read or hear in reporting that younger women are intentionally not being released by their captors.....for fear that those women will tell the world the sexual abuse they endured during their captivity.

And the questions arise will those women be able to survive? Or will they be intentionally killed? Secretly placed into an expected bombing target location.....to be unknowingly blown up by the IDF?

Imo the "Americans" who attacked our capital need legal consequences. But they are not of the "same ilk" as Hamas. American progressives tend to be younger, and don't recall the arab attacks against Israel or Munich, because they weren't born yet.

The traditional dem (or liberal western democracies) approach to a peace is/was the two state solution. That ain't happening after the November attacks.

The Trump solution is to just minimize the Pales' influence by dealing with the Saudies and the Zionists, while enriching Trump. Maybe that's the way to go, so long as Trump is not in the govt.

I don't see a plan C.
