Only dimwits think America is a free country. Sure we have more freedoms than some but we still tolerate a pretty large amount of fascism in the form of our bloated and intrusive criminal justice system.

Well, considering who is in power, probably not.

considering how many immigrants we get, what they have to go through to get here and then stay here. It seems likely.

Now consider that people risk possible death to get here illegally and it closes the door on the conversation for me.

What about Western Europe or countries in The Commonwealth of Nations. Some might be poorer but does that make them less free? Democracies in Latin America or Asia.

Hey, I bet you got a list of all the freedoms that have been taken away from you in the past 20 years. Are you gonna share that list?

I would like to see how it compares to my list. Which is actually a short list. The Patriot Act tops my list for danger. The right to suspend habeas corpus, even if you are American, if identified as a "terrorist" by our government is serious shit.

Obama didn't do that. He just left it in place.
