The real question is, what kind of country do we want? If wealth is accumulated generation after generation we'll have a society like Medieval Europe. A hereditary upper class/nobility that owns and a lower class that works for them. I'd prefer to live in a meritocracy.

People who make their wealth by ability, gambling, or luck are welcome to it and they can spend it as they please. Just don't give it all to the kids to create a nobility. Each generation should make their own way.

If you divide all the money in the world into equal pie slices, one for everyone in the world, that would be a big shakeup. Inevitably, those who know what to do with money will still control it after the lefties blow all their windfall on gold wheels and gold teeth. Those who never had it will drink and gamble it away, within a short time. In a short time, it would be like the equal pie slice wealth redistribution thing never even happened.

If we had the same tax structure for peasants before the Reagan Tax Cuts and changes to the tax brackets, inflation adjustments and such, revolution may have occurred by now.
