This was the NWS warning 3 hours in advance calling for heavy rain and "life threatening" flash flooding:

Hopefully this puts that issue to rest for good and all.

Sadly, the campers didn't get the warning. Look for a monumentally huge lawsuit.

The warning was actually earlier than I was led to believe.

Then again it's just like the warnings we constantly get this time every year here that don't amount to anything. So as a result folks turn off their alerts so as not to be aggravated by them.

That's Trumps fault.

San Antonio's warning coordinator meteorologist was one of those who took an early retirement package, so he took the money and ran.

"Tom Fahy, the legislative director for the NWS employees’ union, told CNN that while he believes the offices had “adequate staffing and resources,” the Austin-San Antonio office is missing a warning coordination meteorologist — a role that serves as a crucial, direct link between forecasters and emergency managers."

Beleaguered Weather Service defends its forecasts as Texas officials point fingers over flood warnings

That would be this guy:

It could have been worse!

Thrall, Texas, located in Williamson County recorded 38.2 inches of rain in 24 hours ending on September 10, 1921. 31.8” of that fell in 12 hours and 23.4” of that fell in just six.

The buildings toward the left center of the pic is/was the Mystic Girl's Camp.....It's a wonder any survived as it sat alongside of Honey Creek.

... and what does that have to do with government staffing?

Or is it your contention that no one but the government can act responsibly?
My comment has nothing to do with goverment staffing, there is no need to infer what you think I'm trying to say, as you would not get it right anyway.

As the OP has requested, let's put this issue to rest and discuss it no further. Trump and his staffing cuts should not be scrutinized.

I think it was the TX GOV said they got 26" in 45 minutes.

We had a flood in Philly and got 12" in a hour. I was at the Church Lady's (my mom) house that day and remember looking out the window and thinking this is bad !

I still can't picture 26"...people probably couldn't see what was in front of them 3 ft away.
