The thing about these cafateria christianists is that they think their founding tracts are just a Country Buffet, where they get to choose only those morsels that they've developed a taste for. There's little reason to eat the whole table.
The christianist bible is sorta like the daily horoscope in the newspaper. There are enough generalities spread across enough birthdates that one can find whatever one wants.....sooner or later. And discard or ignore whatever one doesn't want.
It may be their god's word. But not always. And not on everything. He can be ignored at will.
