Pulling The World Out From Under You

The democrats don't do it either. Neither of them even try. Only a few FC's in the GOP try. But they get black balled and threatened to be primaried if they stand up to all this wasteful spending.
I suppose yer US history is so bad you don't know about how Jackson paid off the debt and balanced the budget?

1837: Andrew Jackson(In 1835, the $17.9 million budget surplus was greater than the total government expenses for that year.) By January of 1835, for the first and only time, all of the government's interest-bearing debt was paid off. Congress distributed the surplus to the states (many of which were heavily in debt).

I'm talking about todays times. Not nearly a century ago.

SPENDING!!!!!!! The most important issue of our time. Even more important than the border issue. You don't think it's important, because the party and politicians you're loyal to don't address it. When they do, they lie about it. Because over borrowing and over spending affects every man, woman and child in this country. And for generations to come. And it affects every business, big or small, in this country.

You can claim all those stump speech issues are important. And each one may be important to some. But inflation, spending, the debt etc etc, affects everyone.

BTW, almost every single one of issues would be solved if the GOP has a fiscal conservative majority, instead of a RINO one.
No it isn't you dunce.

Freedom is.

Please go away.....I fear second hand stupidity

You can't refute what I say, so you get childish and personal. Typical Trump/RINO loyalist.
We lost 16% of the USD value because of Trumps spending. Another 12% because of Biden's spending. Much of which came from either McCarthy or Johnsons spending bills.
Increases on everything from kids candy to the elderly groceries. But according to you, transgenders in sports is more important.

You RINO's are killing the GOP.

FFS, this isn't a democrat issue. This have nothing to do with the GOP cleaning up their own house. Right now, the RINO's would elect Hakeem Jefferies as house speaker before they'd elect Massie in that chair.

BTW, Trump just fully funded the Dept. of Ed. in March. Why? Because the RINO's had to pass the CR (without any cuts) and RINO Trump signed it into law.
"Mandatory spending" that can't be cut in reconciliation.

The whole process has become and immense rube Goldberg tied up in a Gordian knot.

Yes, reconciliation bills can be "cut" or amended, but with specific limitations. While they can pass with a simple majority in the Senate, avoiding the filibuster, they are subject to rules regarding what can be included and how amendments can be made.

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • Reconciliation bills are designed to pass with a simple majority in the Senate,
bypassing the normal 60-vote threshold required to overcome a filibuster. This expedited process is used for budget-related matters, particularly those affecting spending and revenue.

Right...But there's the whole "mandatory spending" shell game...I hear it told that discretionary spending can't be cut in those bills.

I totally get what you're saying. But the RINO's have the majority. They can amend the bills, they can amend the rules. They just don't want to. Or they don't have the balls to do it.
Either way, they're only setting themselves up for a midterm loss, because they're not doing what they promised to do.

Someone said that the RINO's don't really want to be in the majority. I'm starting to believe it.
